Drastic team change - start with Mackie and Derry

Drastic team change or stability? That is the question.

start with Mackie,why?
He is not a goalscorer. He runs and chases, but produces little. He is clearly best suited as a late impact sub.

Leave out Cisse, why? He is a goalscorer and QPR's best hope of scoring. He needs to play down the middle and get support and service.

Granero in front of a holding midfield of Diakite and Faurlin.

Mbia in Central defence with Nelsen and if fit, Dyer at Right Back. I think I am correct in saying that as Fabio is on loan he is not available for this game, which means Traore at left back, even if he cannot defend. Someone should take him aside and explain that he is a winger and as such should be working on making this position his own.

QPR dont need to keep changing the players around, that solves very little. Just creates more instability, less understanding and gives Hughes more chance to say he needs more time for the players to gel.

Dyer isn't a bad shout actually. He has looked good each time he has played. Just depends on his fitness as always.

I think Mackie is the type of player to do well in this type of game. Like he did at City away last season.

I think we need to play players that really want it, as 1 or 2 of these players will raise the game of the rest of the team. Perhaps play a few of the youngsters?

For Utd Fabio will not be able to play, they never are, as Lakuta couldn't play against Chelsea for example.

Although many slate him, i'd bring in SWP for Hoilett who i thought was shocking Saturday, gave nothing, didnt work and did Mackie's trick of running into people again and again. The goal was more about their keeper being pants than anything else. I would play SWP right as we will need graft and some quality in midfield or will get totally overun. He can also help contain Evra as works as much as anyone and does have ability on the ball and is generally good at retaining posession.

I would not have Mackie up front. We need Cisse in for any half chance we may get, and he keeps getting slated, but has had naff all service.... not his fault. All this rubbish about not trying, being lazy etc and doesn't care is a myth. He's always on the run, hence often off if the pass is late and if he didn't give a damn why did he get so worked up with Taarabt at Stoke..?

I think against Man Utd we need players who can put in a shift. Derry's my fav player, so maybe I am biased, but I would like to see him in there protecting the back four. Have Mackie up there who can chase their defenders and not give them time on the ball. And hopefully let Tarbs and Hoilett get forward on the counter and conjure up something.

Horses for courses, but why would you play the best center midfielder we have at the club on the right, (didn't work on Saturday v Southampton did it) and why would you continue with H(T)oilett.

You say that then suggest Onouha as a better option.... He's played there plenty and been woeful consistenly. As for Mackie at RB........ I don't think it needs words.

Team for next week? well I'm really not sure but for this team to progress Bosingwa & Ferdinand can not play in it again! as for people calling for Mackie,Derry & SWP I cant beleive it! other than energy Mackie offers very little Derry we saw what happened to him last year the game just passes him by and as for SWP I never want to see him in an Rs shirt again a complete mercenary who's done now't since he come here.

Even I was thinking this morning whether we should call SWP back. Things have certainly gone from bad to worse. How limited options we really have!

We have quality in abundance in CM with Faurlin if he plays, Diakite and Granero... we don't at the back, which is what Mbia was bought for and looks accomplished there. He must play CB with Nelsen.

fair point but none of those midfielders have good defensive qualities. Diakite is not a DM despite what people seem to think. Granero certainly isnt and Faurlin should never have let Puncheon get by him so easy for that second goal. There was a similar Faurlin situation in the Stoke game where Faulin was beaten far too easily and Crouch was set up with a chance he really should have scored.
