  • QPR owner Tony Fernandes pledges support to players and management

Tony Fernandes has pledged his support to “players and all management” after the Hoops suffered a 3-1 loss to Southampton at Loftus Road on Saturday.

The Saints took a first-half lead through prolific Ricky Lambert, with the striker heading past Hoops keeper Júlio César, before Jason Puncheon extended their advantage in the 43rd minute.

What we really need is boardroom stability and why TF must stay in charge along with Amit.

The manager however, MUST be changed.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

“And done all we can to give support to players and all management. I can only apologise to the QPR fans. We keep fighting.”

That's very different from will do all we can. Hughes will go. 'Arry made it pretty clear on MOTD that he'd take the job.

Be a man Hughes and go without a payoff as you have cost us millions of pounds already. You have lost the locker room and the fans.

people will always twist and interpret these kind of headlines to suit what they wish to hear - the more ambiguous the story, the more scope there is for personal interpretation - this story can be seen from many angles. Hughes should walk for the good of our club................imo.

As much as I would love this to happen, no way will he walk for free when he can get millions in sack pay. Playing devils advocate, who can blame him? Not like he cares at all for our club.

                  Matty,

I think MH does care. I just think he has made too many mistakes, which heap pressure on him and lead to even bigger mistakes. I am more than prepared to accept that he is very frustrated and even hurting at this moment. I cannot say the same for the majority of yesterday's starting eleven though.

Although as I think you mentioned elsewhere, it is very odd that the more one appears to fail, the more chances you get to make the same mistakes in this business.

I see what you mean, and I agree he probably / almost certainly does care at his failings as the manager of our club, and is probably hugely down at the whole scenario, but I meant to say that he has no attachment to us as a club and so I cant imagine he would care enough to walk away out of respect to us and not take his multi million pay off.

I am struggling to see how he is going to get another job tbh - given the way he left Foolham and has massively failed at us with near enough an open cheque book at his disposal.

And yes, crazy world football aint it! In the "real world" after such failings in the industry, you would never get another job, let alone mega bucks pay offs!

I think everyone, even those who advocated giving Hughes time could see all the mistakes he was making. Only fair to give someone enough time to turn things around.

The bottom line though, is he's not turning it around. It's not just that he's not doing it quick enough but we're showing no signs of winning a game. Can't score, can't defend. Now can't even dominate possession either.

Now is the time to do something, and do it quickly. If Hughes doesn't resign tonight, he never will. We have hit rock bottom yesterday in more ways than one.

So true - I was always in the "give him time and things will turn around" camp. Maybe a win v reading or soton would start things off and we'd be up and running eventually. That did not happen and things seem to be getting worse. He needs to go NOW!

Most learned QPR fans knew from the outset Hughes was an awful appointment simply because he was a bad fit. That he kept the club up was the bare minimum and even then I believe the players deserve the credit not he.

As a season ticket holder I stand up in the R Block bemoaning the same thing at every home game: Where is the intensity and desire to win?

Every game played at a meandering tempo, too many players wandering around half asleep and most criminal of all, the pathetic and derisory attempts to defend set pieces. That Hughes and Bowen are so abysmally remiss in addressing this is an insult to fans who pay good money to watch this utter drivel. Worse for me is that Hughes has the temerity to come out and state "of course we work on defending setpieces" when all evidence on the pitch leads to the contrary.

Its just dreadful this season. I could handle relegation if we at least showed some fight and passion but we're rock bottom and going out with a whimper. Mackie wants to leave and if Hughes is still there in January, will probably let him go as well and with Fernandes looking so impotent with his decision making you wonder where the points are going to come from. If Fernandes cannot see that yesterday was Mark Hughes nadir then I can only surmise he cannot afford to sack him or he's backed himself into a corner where he has stripped himself of all credibility by continually publicly backing Hughes. I like Tony but I hope he learns from this mistake, he has made himself look patently daft with his constant use of twitter.

Goodbye Mark. Whenever it finally happens. It hasn't been pleasant having you here.

As one fan shouted yesterday upon exiting the Loft "Get that Chelsea C*** out of my club!!!".

                          Couldn't agree more.
