  • Problems everywhere.....

My view on the mess that our football club has become.

Defence: Bosingwa, Traore and Ferdinand are not natural defenders. They gamble with their positional play, they lack concentration and they lack any sort of leadership skills. Basically you would not want any of them in the trenches with you. On top of this there is no organisation, Nelson looks exasperated most of the time, just highlights complete and utter disorganisation. To be fair to Nelson he is not the best, but just by him giving 100% makes him our only competent defender.

Midfield: No game plan either defensively or going forward. It literally is give the ball to Adel, let him run with it and see if anything comes of it. Most of the time with Adel it doesn't. From Cisse or any of the forwards point of view they have no idea what he is going to do with the ball, and given there characters they then stop making the runs. Granero is trying which is a bonus, Faurlin has not reached last seasons levels, Diakite is a headless chicken with no footballing brain, his mazy runs up blocked alleys do not fool me, he is hopeless. Hoillet is one bright spark, looks inventive, has end product and gives 100%. Park been disappointing as a whole.

Forwards: Really poor across the board. Cisse terrible attitude, playing for himself, always offside, no link up play, tends to drift wide leaving no-one through the middle. Zamora one dimensional, no pace, not giving 100%, plainly not enjoying it - looks like his mind is elsewhere. Mackie - tries hard but not enough quality. AJ looked good and then got his customary injury.

Hughes: Has no idea of his best starting 11 or his formation. Adel is the one source of creativity but has no positional sense and is totally inconsistent. Diakite another that loses our shape defensively. Because of the inconstancy of our creative players we are not developing any pattern of play. We actually move the ball around well in midfield, but we never can play a killer ball. When we get the ball wide, Bosingwa is truly the world's worst crosser, and we rarely have more than one player in the box. When do you ever see Granero, Diakite or Faurlin bursting into the box? Never is the answer. Back to Hughes, he has bought quality players that have no hunger (Hoilett and Granero apart).

    Actions needed.
Improve the defence by bringing in DEFENDERS
    Fabio in for Bosingwa.
    Bring Hill in for Traore.

    Midfield shape.
Play 4 in midfield. Improve the stability and support the full backs defensively.
Granero and Faurlin in the middle
    Hoillet and Park out wide.

    Forward.
Need a partnership. Work in training with Zamora and Cisse getting them to play together to get a partnership. Zamora holding it up, Cisse playing off of him. Get a pattern of play working. Faurlin and Granero need to get on the ball about 35 yards out. Zamora holding the ball up will enable this. Will bring Hoillet into the game in the right areas.
Adel is the perfect sub to bring on when teams are tired, Mackie too.

That is how I have started to look at it. Looking at the results - would anyone have done any worse?

I thought it was right to see how MH did against Reading, then I started to think he had to go, Southampton sealed that. I have always thought he would get until Xmas, but not so sure now.

The trouble is the change may be too late...if it comes.

I do agree it just beggars belief that away to Spurs we were excellent to watch and played as a team but we still lack up front oh i hope Harry can get them playing together

Reasonable post but you confuse the word quality with ability.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Agree with a lot of that, except -

Hill for Traore ? Clint himself said his legs won't let him play LB again. So maybe Ehmer ?
Granero & Faurlin CM didn't work earlier in the season and needs Diakite (or Derry) to add some metal.
Adel must start (at Home), he's the only one capable of creating something, leaving him on the bench suggests the best we hope for is a draw. Away from home, I see your point.

Our players raise their game against the big clubs. You watch we will play well at Utd next week as well, still lose though. THey can't be bothered against the likes of reading, saints etc
