Now QPR have a collection of misfits on big wages and will need to ship a lot of them on vastly reduced fees...if the players go. My guess is some will want to be paid off like Vine Agyemang Hall and Rowlands or they will see out their contracts.

Hughes could have signed Jelavic, Bassong and Diakite in January and they would probably have done the job of keeping QPR up and Hughes only needed to sign Mbia, Nelsen, Hoilett and a striker along with Green (keeping Kenny as back up or challenger) and perhaps a left back. No need for Zamora Cisse. Park, Granero, Cesar Bosingwa onouha etc.

He could also have signed a few hungry young British players to mix with a few foreign ones. Not xenophobic , but QPR have very few British players who understand the English game or the fans.
You make it sound so easy...

I am so bored of this ridiculous old cliche. What players are you talking about? British players are more expensive and demand higher wages, no matter what age or how "hungry" they are.

Also, they are less talented, so we have a much smaller pool to pick from. The best players in the league are all foreign. Rooney is the only one outfield player we have close to getting to the heights of overseas players. Wilshere will get their probably, but your attitude is in the dark ages of hoofball and players that smoke and drank and got the bus to the stadium with the players. Nationality is nowt to do with it - it is about professionalism, quality, hard work and team ethic.

Also, have a good look at our squad - the biggest failures are English. Ferdinand and SWP, Dyer, AJ. They are costing us a fortune and deliver nothing. And don't give me Dyer is on pay as you play - there is no such thing in the PL.

I know it will be hard to shift the mercenarys and bums but we will have to sideline them if thats the case

Cant take watching these half heated players knowing that they aint giving there best

Get DJ back and another defender or 2

This line up will serve us well in January

        Cesar

        Fabio, Nelsen, Hill/Samba, Traore

        Hoilett, Diakate, Faurlin, Taarabt

        Mackie, DJ

You may be right, but that front two will not be enough to keep anyone up, regardless of how hard Mackie might try.

Mbia has been one of our better players in recent weeks ad Taarabt can't play left wing to save his life. Samba ain't Coming. but apart form that!

Absolutely. Young half decent British players, the big boys snap up for 11 million here, 16 million there.

As for not signing Cisse as the original poster suggested, we would now be in the championship if we hadn't.

To my mind our best players are probably adel, faurlin, traore and caesar with diakite and mbia offering the potential to join them.

As for the old English guard, Derry has looked well off the pace since returning and while we all love Clint's passion - hammering the ground with his fists when we let in yet another goal - the hard truth is he isn't good enough to keep us in the Prem.

Seen Taarabt play some of his best football on the left wing at home games

Your right to include Mbia and would probably have him over Faurlin at the moment

You got a source to confirm Samba aint coming?

Surely that question should be turned on it's head? Where is the source that says he is definately coming. Just another rumour as far as I can tell.

clearly it will be loans at best in jan. no player who will want to come on a permanent basis to a club facing relegation will be good enough to improve us.

Exactly. I cannot confirm that he isn't coming any more than anyone can confirm that he is. The main question would be Why would he?

                          Why would he not?

He is in Russia not having a good time and we might offer him a contract which suits his needs

Not worth saying he aint coming as fact if your not sure

the point being made is that no player getting champions league football and whatever the unbelievable wages he is reportedly on is going to come to a club staring relegation in the face, at least not on a permanent. and nor are we going to spend the 10m or so required when the odds are we will be in the championship next season. you don't need a source to tell you that, you just need common sense. therefore the only question is whether his existing club would let him go on some (presumably extremely expensive) loan, but its not clear what would be in it for them, any more than we would cheerfully loan out one of our good players (he says, struggling to think of any...).

Its about making the right call investment wise in the long term. We have to think that way now - no more ageing journey men looking for a nice handshake. We have to consider what sort of structure we'll need in place next year, and that depends on two things.

If we're 10 or more detatched from safety by the New Year bringing anyone in would be pointless, because we'll definitely be on our way down, so we'd be paying Jan prices in a lost cause - because come summer Harry will start re-assembling a football team. He's spoken about wanting to build a young side - don't forget he is is coming to the end of his career and he wants a bit of legacy like all of us - and that project will commence if we go down.

If on the other hand this lot get the finger out of the botty - and there are signs that finally the work ethic is getting through - and start picking up points so that we're say max four off safety on Jan 1 we probably will have to go for that long awaited CB plus AN Other because the financial package involved in staying up would justify it. The current squad are playing for their careers so I wont be too surprised if we do pick up. The problem is of course that all our strikers bar Cisse on a going day are third class at the very best (Zamora / AJ ffs, unfit for EPL purpose and have been for some time, that's Sparky's genius at work) and the CB thing is shored up on a temp basis, so it is very hard to see us do anything beyond get a little respect back - but you never know for sure.

oh and btw I said in the summer I wanted three only: young Schmeichel (pre RG farce), one proper CB and Rhodes: all three were available, plus Joey in the house. That was all we needed but Sparky knew better. The magnitude of his incompetence was breathtaking, shame he finally got outed down the Bush...
