    So what is the problem???

We have had plenty of Hughes out threads but what is the problem with the team/performances.

    For me its:

    1) We play at such a low tempo we are easy to play against
    2) We play all our football in front of teams we never turn them around
    3) Were shocking at attacking set pieces and even worse defending them
    4) We look good keeping the ball but its all in the middle of the park as soon as we need to make the passes count around oppositions box we have no idea
    5) We lack movement off the ball
    6) We have no height or bullies in the team hence whey we get raped at corners and set pieces
    7) When we dont have the ball we dont apply pressure teams pass around us and we never win the second ball
    8) Today specifically when were chasing the game we have 11 men back for corners (Strange) and the one guy who was picking up the ball and running with it Samba was taken off for Derry (Strange) again when were chasing the game
    9) Generally when the ball goes in the box we only have one man in there so we either pick him out or its move over. The midfield is not brave enough to break and get beyond and support our striker

Anything else you guys have picked up on?? Am I being to harsh??

Said numbers 1 and 2 for weeks now, we are not direct enough, so the oppo defence have got no worries just stand and let us pass it around

Oh got one ....we employ zonal marking at set pieces, this is just stupid, go man to man. By marking zonaly the attacking team can get a run and jump when attacking the ball where the defenders have to try a standing jump to defend.

Love him or hate him someone like Grant Holt up top knocking defenders over is what we need in this team. Even Lambert today for a big man had a good touch and put a shift in

Good point Dave picked up on that against Stoke. Its like desperate measures we have conceaded so many from corners etc they have gone zonal thinking its the cure and we look just as shocking

Agreed, this kind of Zonal marking doesn´t work. We should have had Hill and Nelson in defence today aswell.

Some good points, especially the low tempo and lack of attacking people in the box, think you have just about summed up most of our problems, but to fix it ??????????

Totally agree with all your points. Desperately need Mbia and a fit Zamora in the team, but even then think we will still have the same issues until we get re-inforcements. It is clear that Cisse, Hoilett and Taarabt in the same team doesn't work, and that Bosingwa, Traore and Ferdinand are up not premier standard defensively. Need some more height and competitive spirit in the team, and someone who can hold up the ball with their back to goal.

Ferdinand is so so bad - boswinga is a buffoon. What was with the change to positions ? I saw at the free kick just before Southampton's third, adel gesturing to move up the field for the break and being instructed to defend. That says it all. No confidence in the coaching team. Jamie was brilliant so why does he not start?

Leave- a go away and have the humility to accept that you have failed -completely. Hughes please leave our ground and don't come back. A great quote for a fellow fan today " do you know how hard you have to work to make Southampton look like Barcelona?"
