It was the right call on the night, be interesting to see if Stewart done enough to keep his place, my bet is that it will be Stewart Hall on tomorrow.
Hall has no more pace than Gorkss.

Say what you want about Sousa but the one thing he did know is how to get us defending as a unit there is no way he would have dropped Gorkss in that situation.

Sorry but your wrong, it was not the right decison on the night because we lost we did not get a result.

Unacceptable to have Hall or Stewart ahead of Gorkss, we will get found out with those to in defence you mark my words.

Blackstock is not a difficult player to defend against....Gorkss would have him in his pocket!

didn't our defence keep 19 clean sheets last season...no matter whether they were fast paced attack or not......so why is Magilton trying to do horses for courses......maybe because he is a tinkerman and cannot resist.

i would take positional sense and defensive no how over pace any time.

as for defending Blackstock...just let him chase a ball....usually falls over his own feet.

Totally agree. Blackstock has NO movement and Gorks wins everything in the air! Hall will probably slip on his ar5e like he did at Bristol and cost us a goal.

It was the right decision as the pace of the front 2 didnt hurt us, if Gorkss was there it may have.

Did you go to the game??

No Morris I did not go to the game but I have seen enough football in my life to understand you don't need to be Des Walker to play against pacy strikers.

I've watched the likes of Paul McGrath with knees shot to pieces man mark some of the best strikers out of the game. The likes of Adams and Bruce captain their teams to Premier League titles despite their like of pace.

Yet again you are showing your naivity and age by patronising someone who has seen far better footballers in the flesh ply their trade their trade at a higher level than the CCC.

I've seen us play enough games in the CCC to know you would never have to drop a player of Gorkss quality.

I think dropping Gorkks was an error. As already said by others, the ability to makr a player and read a game are more important than pace.

How did QPR keep 19 clean sheets last season? It certainly wasn't done by playing Hall in defence, QPR kept a clean shee in a handful of his appearances at best. I recall a clean sheet against Doncaster and possibly against Birmingham & Cardiff, if he played in those games. There might be about 5 at best. The rest were when Gorkks was playing and Connolly and Stewart often featured in them too.

Near enough every team has a speed demon up front so are we gonna drop him for every game?

I went to the game and still feel that our best centre back pairing were warming the bench. Still don't think Stewart has any more pace than Connolly for instance, and, as has been pointed out, good centre backs have other attributes anyway -- intelligence, anticipation, speed on the turn (rather than in a straight line), timing (not Stewart's strength) and heading ability (watch how often Hall loses out on a 50-50 header.

Complete travesty having Connolly and Gorkss on the bench imho.

I don't often go on and on about things, but this issue really has riled me -- unbelievable piece of selection by JM.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########
