I have to say I think he is actually a very good manager. He is outstanding with the media, commands respect of his players (seems to anyway) and has been very loyal. Wigan fans love him. He has saved them a few times and they can actually play some brilliant football - even with attrocious support and often in a ground with more away fans than home fans - like when the big clubs play them.

However, why would he come to us when he has turned down big jobs and pay rises and we are a smaller club than those he has rejected and we are below Wigan with less PL experience.

    THIS ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

I can say it louder if you want?

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has revealed for the first time that he turned down an approach from Liverpool to become their manager earlier this summer.

"We must educate people,' Martinez told the Daily Mirror. 'In five or six years, we [Wigan] reap the benefits. Maybe I won’t be there then.

'But this is not why I stayed, when Liverpool made me an offer.'

He added: 'I stayed because my chairman is unique."

I guess I was wrong. Sorry.
