  • An observation about QPR this season

One weird thing I've noticed about our season so far is that we never (Swansea aside) get completely outclassed. We're always only slightly worse than our opponents.

This is true whether we're playing Man City or Reading. We always look roughly equal to the opposition. I can't get my head around it. I can imagine us putting up a decent fight and then losing to both Preston and Real Madrid. What's going on?

I think most games this season we should have won, but didn't due to stupid mistakes such as Ferdinand slipping, Traore chesting it down for Adam to score, or Tarbs trying to lob a keeper when he has the whole goal in front of him. We're always the one's in possession and playing the better football, especially against the better sides as you have said.
"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

Easy, we're not scoring when we're on top. We have only lost the last how many games by one goal?

you're spot on and it just sums up that the side lacks any kind of bottle.

You need players that would die for the cause, derry and hill did it for us in our promotion push alongside adels flair but no real go getter in the side. Cisse just sums everything up in a nutshell for me.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

The nonsense I read on this board.

Swansea game was no different to West Ham, only Swansea took their chances. If norwich had taken their chances we would have lost 4 or 5-1. City could have scored 6 against us. West Brom were completely dominant. Other than City, there's some mediocre teams there and people are deluding themselves if they think we're unlucky or on the verge of a great winning runs. We have a hopeless loser of a manager who looks for excuse after excuse and a squad of mercenaries who we are unfortunately stuck with.

Feels like it's always one goal. God knows what it is. But if someone asked me 'how good are QPR at the moment?' I would have no idea how to answer. We're always a bit worse than our opponents.

Just like the team Wilkins took down - never spanked that season, Cantona scored at about 6pm one Saturday when we should've beaten Utd, couple of injuries and Wilkins invested I players like Zelic and Osborne without a clue how to use 'em.

16 years later another ex Manc / ex Chelscum man at that helm.

If I recall the season after we dropped out the Prem money went ballastic as well
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

That's probably because he sets the team out to be hard to beat. However, with tyhe attacking players available, they should be looking to attack from the start rather than contain the opposition.

This is why players like Mackie and SWP were often chosen ahead of Cisse, Hoilett and Taarabt.

QPR are capable of scoring 2-3 goals per game and with the defence available, capable of conceding a similar amount. This could result in winning on average aabout 2 out of every 5 games

We're not taking our chances for starters and more importantly the players don't have the heart to dig out a result. Compare it to last season when when we had the likes of Barton, Hill, Derry & Mackie on the pitch motivating the team and willing us to get a result. Whilst I'm not suggesting that that those 4 players are thr future of QPR, I certainly do not see any leaders on the pitch these days and for me Park is a pitiful choice of a captain.

Actually we let in an early goal and bossed the game completely after that for about 30 mins with many chances to equalize. Had we scored once the whole season could have been different.

The body language and lack if leadership on the pitch says it all - we are losing narrowly most weeks because we don't 'want' it enough
