Should our players have to go to the African Cup of Nations?

Some African players are excellent. Some non-African players are excellent. I'm sure our near and not-so-dear neighbours don't regret signing Drogba. Just as we don't regret signing Taarabt.'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

I can tell you that most of Africa couldn't' give a toss about the ACON either. Unless you're in the Final, no one really wants to watch it. Last year the Zambia v Ivory coast game was on a tiny tv or not at all in most of the sports bars out here un Uganda as i think there was an AC Milan or Real Madrid game on at the same time which everyone wanted to watch. International football isn't big here at all, if its not the EPL (or Barca or Real Madrid) then no one cares at all.
On Climate it doesn't really add up either. Equatorial nations have a hot, dry season in Dec-March and also July-September, then the further south you go, it gets more seasonal with the hot season being October - Feb with the reverse as you go north.
Therefore, there is little reason why it is indeed held in January as unless you only pick select nations whereby this is their cooler seasons as hosts, then you cannot really say 'oh we cannot do it in june or july as its too hot'.

Statistically, our African players have found it much more difficult to stay on the pitch for 90 mins. That is undeniable, and not racist. I'd be fascinated to talk about the reasons why this has been the case. Are African players generally more hot-headed, have they been discriminated against by refs, or do we just have ones who are more hot-headed than your average African player. Or is it just co-incidence.

I think clumsiness has alot to do with it. That cisse at Newcastle is the same. People raved about him all year bet he does nothing this season. Big black lads often make the grade with clubs due to sheer athleticism pure pace and power but alot have the touch of a rapist
remember ****tu he was the same he could run through Brick walls but wouldn't be able to run in and out of cones or a rope ladder I wouldn't mind guessing
