  • We need to score more

Many people here are talking how bad the defence has been in the last matches - not true.
If you take the last 4 fixtures of every club then the truth is that only 3 teams have conceded less Nor=1, ManC=2, W.H=3. QPR= 4 - one in each match.
This should mean the foundations are there - good defence is the key to get us out of this mess.
The team in the last match was the one most people here though would be most likely to score goals - it did not happen.
I for one would like to see the same team next match - I have confidence in this team
Discussion should be what is needed to score more - different tactical set up - other players in the team....
    - it would be nice to leave our manager out of this

Unfortunately we don't seem to have any strikers. Cisse has lost form. Zamura doesn't really want to play any more and the rest of the strikers. Oops there aren't any.

we have one striker who cares more about his barnet.. the other one doesnt like football and the third is injury prone..

now thats unlucky maybe but whos the clever **** who thought 'ill only pick 3 strikers' when we had 6 to choose from.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
      Lovejoy: "No?!"

I believe there are goals in our midfield, like Granero and Diakite and wide players like Taarabt and Hoilett. It would be nice to get a goal once in a while from our central defenders.
By the way - then only team to win all 4 matches has one of the worst defence conceding almost 2 every match (7) but scoring 12 in the process

I think that the strikers issue was always the biggest weakness for us since the beginning of the season. It got overlooked by Hughes and co and is the reason we haven't won a game yet.

We've let in 20 goals so far this season, Man Utd have let in 16. They have scored 29 goals... we've scored 8!!!

We're not scoring enough goals because we don't have enough strikers. Someone came up with a 'versatility' policy and assumed jacks of all trades would get lots of goals. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked.

Defence is key as you rightly say, but someone decided to go with just eight defenders, including just one LB, and not enough commanding CBs. Most of us knew what the problems were and still are, yet this wasn't properly addressed.

So, what's the solution, apart from our players sticking their chances away, because I don't know. I wouldn't have gone in with just three strikers and I can't really explain the manager's odd decision. Now we're down to two, getting goals will be even tougher thereby lessening our chances of winning games.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

the idiot manager should never have let dj go unfortunately we got a serious shortage of quality strikers and this is a problem that is not going to go away need 2 strikers in the new year and i agree about the defence it appears much more settled at the moment.
but if you do not score obviously you cannot win and this is our problem at the moment that and a lack of anything training wise.

9 of the 20 goals came in the first 3 matches.
I believe that lack of players in the box is the main key we are not scoring enough.
Very seldom we see Granero/Diakite in the box. Just think of when fullbacks are in position to cross - there is not enough staff in the box.
90% of goals are scored inside the box - come to think of it I can not remember a single goal scored against us outside since Swansea

                    We need to:
                    1) shoot more, especially Hoilett and Taarabt. Why don't Hoilett shoot when he has enough space to do it?
                    2) do more quick attacks, pass the ball upwards faster. Why do we pass the ball backwards from penalty box?
                    3) Zamora needs to stay up, when playing. Why he keeps coming to midfield line?
                    4) Cisse needs to run towards front post for crosses.
                    5) We must do more low crosses, we don't have Helguson anymore and Zamora hardly wins any head ball.
