He was offered a Director of football style role at Bournemouth when Eddie Howe returned a couple of weeks ago but turned it down- make of that what you will.
Wd not surprise me if there had been contact, even some preliminary discussions, but wd be amazed if there had been a written offer. Fernandes is a shrewd businessman and he will know at this stage it is about having options as the last thing he wants to do is a Wolves and sack the manager and end up just appointing the head coach. He will no doubt also have discussed with Beard how much it wd cost to terminate the contracts of Hughes and many of his backroom people and bring in an entirely new manager/ coaches etc. He probably wouldn't have liked the number he was told. My hunch is he is still backing Hughes but will be expecting results to at least start turning round pretty quickly.Unlike some on here he is probably talking about it v discreetly as he realises that endless talk about the manager's future makes survival less rather than more likely.

Has consistently said he wants to return to Premiership so don't think anything to read into it.
Not overly keen on idea. Everyone raves about his record at Spurs but he seemed to spend a lot of money on players, many of who flopped, and I wouldn't say he achieved anything more than he should have with that level of spending. Also handled whole England speculation awfully to the detriment of his club.
If Adel could hit a barn door we would have got at least 4 points out of last two games. A lot of work has been done in the background and I would be reluctant to throw all that away by sacking Hughes as longer term could be what we need to move forward. In my view Hughes' two main mistakes are buying too many players over the summer and ironically at least one striker short even allowing for that. We can all see the technical ability of some of these players but they have simply not gelled yet. They need to starting with Southampton. Massive game for us and them.

This rumour is incorrect as of today.
And long it may continue to be so.
Well done on the three points on Saturday. Your fans maybe as ugly as your football but you got the win and we didn't. Any predictions for the Lottery numbers? Cheers.

I know it's not the most reliable source and the story is a fairly obvious one but the sun is reporting that Hughes has the Southampton game to turn it Around or he's gone.

Agree with virtually all of that except the bit about the only mistake was buying one striker too few. Sure another striker wd be nice but in fairness he wasn't to know Cisse wd get a divorce and go so badly off form. For me the far bigger omission was the failure to buy a commanding centre back. confidence in a team always starts - or corrodes - from the back.
