The next question should be how much has Abramovich spent on Chelsea. If he is worth £9 billion and has spent reportedly £800m on them then he has spent about 9% of his wealth. £800m has been spent over 7 years which is the equivalent of £115m a year.

Our owners are worth more and to date have spent the equivalent of £20m a year. That statement alone shows that either Abramovich is daft and shouldn't have spent the vast amounts he has or our owners aren't overly serious about the club.

9% of the average person's year salary in this country is less £3k. How many people spend more than that supporting this club.

sirpiechucker-you have hit the nail on the head.when will we discover the truth?why did they buy our club in the first place?if they are serious about making it work-then SERIOUS investment in players is ESSENTIAL.

If they were only in for the "fun" of it then why up the prices? Why enrage the fans. Surely fun would be watching good football in a good atmosphere. Not putting yourself in a situation where the fans are against you and you haven't created a team which makes it fun to watch.

Nobody can demand how much money they do or do not spend but fans will always question there commitment when they are asked to spend more money themselves.

It does make you wonder what they want to achieve at QPR.

Indeed. Am not convinced they know the answer 2 that. Clearly they've found it harder than they expected. Remember the most commited is briatore and a) even he described it as a hobby and b) in plutocratic terms, he isn't actually that rich...

Exactly my point earlier....Yes 70m to me and you is crazy money, but do you expect him to splash 10-20m on players and be down to £50m??

Mittal and Ecclestone wont be putting a further penny in until we reach the Prem...

Flavio is "only" worth £70m and it amazes me that anybody truly believes that he keeps anything but a fraction of that in readily available cash...

as with any succesful businessman the vast majority of his wealth will be tied up in long-term bonds, shares and investments, and as we're in the middle of a recession now is certainly not the time to be cashing in your investments

they are trying to run the club as a business. If they wanted to they could click their finger s and get the best championship side around within a few months , but, thats not their idea. I think they are looking at the challenge of trying to turn rangers around as a business.

One thing i really think is hampering us is the transfer policy, they ARE picking the players. Magilton didnt sign faurlin and pellicori

No chance with Bill Gates still raking it in.... Wasn't he miles ahead in the wealth stakes?

Pete, Its 49 games if you include last season. Thats at least how long we've needed a decent striker.

Assuming they're serious, that's more than enough time to have addressed the problem by now, wouldn't you agree?
