Richard, xmas 2010 Fulham were in the drop zone and fans were calling for his head like many here are now doing. He then went on to lead them to an 8th spot finish. Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying he'll definitely do the same thing here but you just never know, do you?...I mean far stranger things happen in life, dont they...

The difference is that he has already been at QPR since January and although we survived last season, our play wasn't great. By now he should be getting better results.

I agree that it's entirely possible he could change our fortunes, but his record here suggests it's unlikely, and it's his record here that is the important one, not the one from Fulham.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

i understand exactly what rmj is saying..

look at how we've been under hughes for past year.

he has never won back to back games.. and only picked up like 2-3 points on the road in about 13 away games.

if we beat southampton with a dodgy 1-0 or 2-1.. then it will paper over the cracks because we're getting **** all at united and sunderland. we're then in december with 7pts and will probably be 10pts from safety.

if we do get rid of hughes im still in major doubt we can get the results to stay up.. for us to stay up we'd need a warnock-esq start.. remember when we beat then top of the league wba? it can happen with a new manager as the players want to impress. currently the players dont know what to do and hughes n co think if we keep plugging away we will be alright.. thats what worries me..
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
            Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

Richard, again of course youre right that his record for us suggests its unlikely. Just saying that you never know, do you...

No, you never know, but continuing to take a gamble on Hughes turning it around I think is a very risky strategy.

Whatever the problems we have at our club, winning football matches is the no.1 priority and something that should unite us all. I would like to see a change of manager, but above all I want us to win games.

I of course want us to win on Saturday and come to that every game we play, but I also look at things realistically. Saints see us as a guaranteed three points so Sat wont be easy.

Having discussed our situation at length with my many Saints supporting mates, they would go for a straight swap, Adkins to QPR and Hughes to Saints. They don't see MH as a bad manager, just see that for whatever reason it just isn't working. They would have him like a shot over Adkins.

Whatever the result come Saturday one of these two managers will be out of a job come Sun, its just a question of which one?
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Not sure beating Southampton secures MH safety anyway. I have said for a while he will be sacked around Xmas and don't beleive that the Southampton result will change that either way.

It is proven by his record that it takes Hughes time for his methods to work. Everywhere he's been the team has started slowly and after 8, 10, 12 matches it all seems to fall into place and they start performing the way he wants them to. Even last season it took a while and then we went on that run of home games which kept us up. Ok we still didn't win away but the performance at City for example showed things were starting to come together. Now this season is 11 matches in, I think we all agree that we have performed pretty well in a lot of the matches and, on occasions, have been unlucky not to win. I've read comments like Hughes has been here for ### long and how much time does he need ........ but be honest with yourselves when raising that argument - it's only to suit your case. The team is a totally different one from last year. We signed a whole new team in the summer didn't we?
So, based on his historical record, don't yet discount the fact that things may turn around and very very soon. Personally, I would rather see that happen because if Hughes goes, we have to start all over again with a new ethic whereas, there is evidence that things will start to pick up in the immediate future under Hughes.

Blue hoop - according to your logic every time we get a new players he will need 10 games without a win to get going. It is a nonsence. He has had 2 transfer windows, fully backed, and got the players HE wanted. He has been here for long enough, so to say this is still part of him "getting going" is laughable.

Not saying sack him tomorrow, but he has already had his "slow start".....if he starts any slower we will be non league by the time he gets going.

I agree that a win next week will be papering over the cracks! But I want us to win with 3 of our next 4 away from home we are likely to be 15 games in with 7 pts if we're lucky I have no faith in our away form at all?
