What does that mean Ninja? I'm no expert on F1 I'm afraid. Does it mean he is selling up? or is he like the manager or something?, I'm not sure what he or Flavio do......apart from instruct drivers to try and demolish a wall!

He was on SSN yesterday (from Rome ) with a Caterham car in the background and was talking about a joint venture with renault about making 'affordable super cars ' so he MAY be withdrawing his F1 involvement

He is not stepping down from Caterham, in fact they are getting stronger.

Caterham closen Renault ties with sports car link-up - http://www.formula1.com/news/headlin.../11/14029.html

Tony can't be at F1, Air Asia, QPR all at once, he has put someone else in charge of the team who then will have to report to Tony. This means Tony will have more time with Air Asia and QPR.

I did post up a link on here a few days ago.

No a chance in hell. Caterham are a slow moving team that are improving. They brought out some big plans yesterday in a press conference in Paris. Tony's staying which is good for me
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Fernandes to step down as Caterham Team Principal

My understanding from the Interview with him on the F1 channel was that he will still own Caterham F1 Team, just appointing a new team principal, because he don't have the time to be there 24/7.

If you read, it don't state that he is selling the team, only that he is stepping down as team principal.

"On the racing side we have come to the conclusion that it is better if someone else takes over the team principal role to move forward," Fernandes said. "We are definitely better at business than finding tenths of seconds around a lap.

You could be right, but it don't say he is selling anywhere unless I've missed it?

                      Dazzer1977 may have some facts?

The next link was from the 25th Oct, looks like some big changes for them.

Is this a gateway back in for Flavio?

Dazzer has a job and don't get to sit in front of his MacBook 24/7 on WATRB. Sorry to disappoint

MYU you're right, it's just the Team Principal role that Tony is relinquishing. He will still be effectively in charge of the team but play a less hands on role. Think of Ron Dennis at Mclaren. He's still very much involved with Mclaren but Martin Whitmarsh (who is now team principal) is the one in charge of the day to day running of the F1 team itself and goes to all the races. Like Ron Dennis it will give Tony more time to spend on his road car division and other businesses, including QPR.
