  • Biggest Issue With Hughes Is.....

That he still does not know what his best formation / or his starting 11 is.

Until he works this out the team we will not get anywhere.

Throughout the spine of the team there are more questions than answers. Mbia and Nelson? Ferdinand and Mbia, Hill and Nelson?

Midfield is the same, Faurlin and Granero?, Diakite and Granero, Mbia and Faurlin.

Finally you've guessed it, up front. Zamora and Johnson were the most logical, but its clear Zamora and Cisse will never be natural partners. In fact none of our fit forwards make good partners. Zamora can only play as a lone striker as his biggest asset is holding the ball up. Cisse needs to be alongside someone.

Finally the last question is what to do with Adel? He is our most creative player, yet never tackles or works to get back. He is also prone to lose the ball in dangerous areas. This coupled with the laziest, lackadaisical money grabbing full backs we've ever had is generally a recipe for disaster.

For me 4-4-2 with a hard working midfield that can keep the ball. Faurlin and Granero are by far our best passers. I think Hoilett (R) and Park (L) should fill the wide spots, with Adel playing just behind Cisse. As for the back four, Nelson has been by far the best player, so I'd go with him and Mbia. Full backs is really hard as don't rate any of them. Probably Traore and Onuha.

If players were fit and not getting sent off every other game, he would have known his best 11.

I think he does now, we have to beat Stoke.

I think your right he is not getting the best out of what he has available to him.

I said before if Big Sam was managing us with our current squad would we be in the bottom two I would suspect we would not.

If Hughes was in charge of West Ham with their squad would he have them a win away from the top four again the answer is no.

How about if players could finish decent chances we'd of won = not Hughes' fault.

And no I'm not happy with how things have been but fairs fair. Thouroughly deserved a point at Arsenal until that a rsehole got sent off & Granero & Mackie missed sitters. Zamora late on & Tarabt both should of buried chamces yesterday.

I disagree with loads of that but it's your opinion.

This holding the ball up thing is a myth. All players should be able to do it and if not, coach it.

Onouha is a disaster at full back. Bosingwa is a good player, and a champs league winner six months ago.

Taarabt has been working a lot harder lately and it's been good to see him improve that part of his game.

We've seen Park at LW this season, no thanks.

I agree we need a settled team though. I don't like this chopping and changing either, but some of it has been enforced.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Bosingwa is a better player than Onouha but his attitude is appalling. He is clearly not trying, the body language, the lack of concentration with his general play yesterday was evident for all to see. I genuinely believe he and Traore really couldn't care less if we won, lost or drew. Neither are good defenders either.

Never seen Cisse hold the ball up. Never seen Zamora get behind a defence.

Adel's work rate has improved, but he just doesn't know what to do. A couple of times yesterday he jogged back and totally left his man, half heart looking like he was trying. Just about deserves a place for the quality he has going forward. What a miss that was yesterday though.

Do we even need to trawl through the shortcomings?

For a man who had last seasons window and then the summer his transfer dealings were muddled, at best.

Tactically he is not up to speed. Stuff like 4-2-3-1 or in fact anything beyond an outmoded 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 seems beyond him. 4-4-2 needs pace up front and a solid back four, never mind an ultra committed midfield. Hughes' idea of tactical suss is to switch from 4/5/1 to 4/4/2.... hopeless.

IMO he mishandled the Anton case and I suspect his man management is poor. Getting them to relax and have a laugh is the first step towards togetherness and I see no evidence of that whatsoever.

Even when Hughes sides have done OK, they've been awful to watch, another consequence of his lack of tactical suss.

Our form under Mark Hughes is down there with our worst ever managers and if he stays we're going down. Sometimes people don't want to see the obvious, but the form book does not lie. We're obviously handicapped by a board whose knowledge and experience of the game could be written on the back of a stamp, but there comes a point where if action is not taken it will be too late anyway. I think part of TF's reluctance is coming to terms with the fact that Hughes' notorious agent has pulled the wool over his (TF's) eyes and there is no doubt that the Hughes contract will be watertight. But this must be done and done very soon. Watch the markets for clues as to what is actually happening.....
