  • I said it before: last home win was Stoke, last away win was Stoke..........

    This Saturday it will come:yush:

Our record at Stoke is actually not too bad.

But seriously I can just see our back 4 buckling inside the first 30 mins and we'll end up losing 3-1 or something.

I just cannot for the life of me why Hughes did not address the defence issue in the summer when this was our biggest problem last season.

He needs proper defenders who can defend. Players like Nelsen. Players like Fabio and Bosingwa are reasonable going forward but as defenders they are woeful. That is their first job.

Don't get me started on Onunha. I have never seen a footballer look so uncomfortable with a ball at his feet. That cross in the last minute yesterday was embarrassing for a professional footballer.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

To be honest I can't see what a new manager can do with this bunch of sh1te. Our defence are not going to become Bobby Moore just because there is a new man in charge. It is becoming desperate now. My views mights change after Southampton at home if we are still yet to win. Keep with him..........just!

In which case attack should be the best form of defence, keep the ball up the other end of the pitch.

I was chatting to my mate who is a Spurs season ticket holder and he said that Harry would sort our defence out with ease and this was one of his strenghts at Spurs.

Just had a look (quick one so not 100%) at his record for the season he took over Spurs. In the 12 games before he took over they kept 1 clean sheet against Wigan after he took over for the remainder of the season they kept 15, thats quite a turn around and would back up what my mate said

Agree with you hammersmith there. Think if we concede an early goal we're done for. But take it to ht still in the game (for us that means drawing at a minimum...2-0 up isn't even safe though...!) we could nick it.

I can't see us "winning" a game...only way we'll get three pts (in any game coming up) is we take the lead and hang on for dear life.

As for stance on MH - new manager won't change a thing

Get your life savings on Huth to score, and probably Shawcross and Crouch.

Cannot defend set pieces, Stoke's only threat? Yes. Set pieces. We'll get smashed I'm afraid.

Lump on for Huth or shawcross 1st goal. There b free headers all round against our diabolical defence

For us that would mean around 29k."

we may need to shake the team up, beef it up and protect some?
