  • Serious question: what do the players do in training?

We have shown all season we are abysmal at defending set pieces and this weekend we go to Stoke who are going to bomb our defence with long balls etc.

How will Hughes and his merry men of a coaching staff prepare for this one?
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Its a very valid question mate .

Not only our defending (which is abysmal ) but also our set pieces going fortward !!!

Honestly when was the last time we scored fron a set piece corner/ free kick ( I'm guessing Bothroyd last year against City ) whereby it looked like it was thought through or there was a plan of sorts !! Even our short corners yesterday ... You just knew they were going to end in tears !!!

Its plain to see Hughes and the backroom staff are not capable of doing there job in training as the team aint playing any style of football and set pieces are awful

With our talent any decent manager would have us winning half our games by now

When Warnock was with us he would tactically set the team up each week to play at the weaknesses of the opposition like he did at Stoke away playing them at there own game

Hughes dont even posses this skill like Warnock

now that's very amusing - probably about right as well, especially the cars bit!

That sounds spot on. Whatever it is they do, it is not working.

Well seeing as we haven't got anyone that threatens from a set piece I'm assuming we can't practice defending them what probably happens is the attacking training side overhit the ball into the box and the defending team just watch as it sails harmlessly over the bar and onto the next training pitch . Someone then goes and get the ball (prob SWP) and then the ' practice' is repeated before everyone gives up and goes inside for skinny lattes
