Just out of interest, are the guys who are supportive of Hughes, also supportive of his record at the club, or is it case of, 'oh I back the manager, but his record is pony!'

It seems odd to back a manager with an awful record and HOPING he'll turn it around, when his performance to date suggests he won't. As the song goes, it appears we're all 'living on a prayer', which is all we can really do given Hughes's record at QPR.

You'll have to excuse my pessimism but I remember backing previous managers, one who got us relegated from the prem in 96. It just seems to me that we're backing a manager that hasn't delivered to date and we're staring catastrophe in the face.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

For stability and a few other reasons,I do also back him. But my problem is that he makes it so very easy to critizise him .As I see it; the man doesn´t explain excatly why we are playing so poorly, which eventually makes it so tempting to "commit" a knee jerk.

Stability.......right. So stability is acceptable even if it means keeping the wrong man in the job? I call it suicidal.....

If we had an established team who had been playing together for a while and were suffering a recrnt dip in performance i may be in the Hughes out campaign. But on paper, our team is at least mid-table, but just disjointed and have not been playing together for a while. It takes time to learn how other players play, Hughes is starting to find the best team and tactics, a new manager coming in will undo all the gelling the team has already done, and any new manager will be even more clueless about the best team and tactics. For me, i want to see how we do in the next 3 games, our team is much stronger than Southampton, stoke and villa, if we cant pick up at least 6 points, i will be joining the Hughes out brigade.

Many people on this board want to replace Hughes. However the only alternative I have read is Harry Rednapp. Is he really going to be the choice of most fans (were Hughes to be sacked) and could his being appointed cause even more problems?

I see you point, but what if we could manage to keep a manager for a bit longer than one year. Long term that would make us a more attractive club to play for as well. Ok, and Hughes; He did fail miserably in the transfer window, but I am sure, with Fabio(tricky player) back in midfield and AJ(must be replaced) making space for other players in attack, our position would have been a bit better now.
Bottomline; give him a chance in the January window to get in two or three more players.

Have to disagree. Our team is NOT at least mid-table on paper, our team is 19th on paper. Man for man we might have a good squad, but as a team we are where we deserve to be, like all clubs. The table is the true measure of success and failure.

Wouldnt trust Hughes to bring anyone else to this club

Harry Redknapp is tactically inept, speak to any serious spuds fan, they could not wait to get shot of him. Every spurs fan i have spoke to thinks we would be better off with with Hughes.

So what happens if we do not accumulate points in the next three to five games. The majority of fans feel that at this time Hughes should be replaced, but with whom?

I think the fans who are saying we stick with Hughes are saying it because they do not really see any alternative.

I am strictly on the fence with this one, because it seems, unfortunately that we are damned if we do and we are damned if we don't, so the only hope is for us to start winning games.

Exactly this, there is no realistic alternative to Hughes. If we were likely to be able to get a better manager than MH, i would probably be all for sacking him. But it will be a struggle to find a manager of a decent calibre willing to take over a club second-bottom in the premiership without a win in 10 games and with our reputation.
