I'm still in the Back Hughes camp.

As I've said on other threads, yesterday I was unsure about Hughes, and I think this was a kneejerk reaction on my part.
We hated Briatore for hiring and firing to his hearts content; hell we all noticed how much of a laughing stock we had become on the 4-Year Plan film.
As TF says, stability is key, and I think it's something we've needed for years now.
Mark Hughes hasn't done the business so far. He kept us up by the skin of our teeth when perhaps it should have been a bit more comfortable. And this season speaks for itself. But he isn't a bad manager IMO. In his only season at Fulham, they were relegation fodder at Christmas, and he ended up getting them into Europe. He even took Blackburn to Europe. And he has us playing some very good stuff at times, which I believe is something to build on.

If he takes us down, he takes us down. If that happens, I hope TF sticks with him because I reckon with that sort of backing he will get us back into the Premier League at the first attempt. I've said it in another thread, maybe going a step back to take 2 steps forward isn't so bad in the long run.
I hate this season as much as anyone else believe me, and I've been to nearly every game so I've walked away from almost every one disappointed and angry. But I believe, with Hughes, we will turn it round. I also believe getting a new man in will hurt us even more. People clamour for Redknapp and, in some cases, Benitez, but someone please tell me how either of these 2 are guaranteed to keep us up? We would be back to square one, back to where we were under Briatore, with a new manager and an influx of new players.

Anyway, I'll don my tin hat because there will no doubt be people very unhappy with this post, but hey these are my feelings on the situation and they are not going to change.
I back Mark Hughes 100% and will do until the day he leaves and/or is sacked.

I think i am in the same boat as you. Have been a hughes backer all the way through. But leaving the ground yesterday i thought i was joining the "Hughes-out bandwagon", but after sobering up and a good night sleep, i think that decision was a bit rash. Our recent performances have been good, far above those of a team at the bottom of the league, and they are only going to get better. Eventually the results will come, i am confident things will look a lot more promising at xmas

With the plans in place for the club, the number of good players signed, the upgrade of our current training ground, and the development of our commercial side, relegation is unthinkable and unnacceptable. Given the overall investment in all areas of the club, bad luck won't get us relegated, but incompetent management might. There are no excuses for failure. Hughes has been given massive support from the board. No other manager in our club's history has received this level of support. It is unprecedented.

Can't accept the principle that the outcome for disastrous failure, i.e. relegation, is Hughes keeping his job.

If we go down I cant see him hanging around he will be off regardless of what TF wants (even after all the backing he has got) His ego wont allow him to manage in the lower leagues

And back at the first attempt I recall the masses saying that about Wilkins and it ended up taking us 15 years to return, we cant risk it.

Next season is the money season in the prem we need to do everyhting we can to ensure we are part of it

Good man Ginger! Talking sense. We need to be different from a club like Blackburn. We need to be unified and remember where we came from. Its been a lot lot worse and now we have someone at the helm doing things for us that deserve at the very least our support. I guarantee if we get behind the manager/owners and team we will turn this around and be comfortable.

I've been in the Hughes camp all along, but the thing that is nagging me is that he keeps asking for more time. For 5 games I can accept this, but we are now 10 games in and to be honest there are no signs of improvement. Having seen every game I honestly think we are getting worse. Our defending of set pieces is the worst I've ever seen. The opposing side wins approx 80 per cent of the first header from set pieces. Yesterday they had 3 clear free headers from corners. Everyone knew this from day one, why has it not improved? He either doesn't know how to improve it or the players are not playing for him? Either way he should go in my book.

I think opinion and comments as to the Back Hughes/Sack hughes argument is evenly split and is more than likely goverened by supporters age and the history they have with QPR .

Myself and most of my mates are in our mid forties so we were a bit young to appreciate the mid to late 70's so for us seeing the hoops through the 80's ( some good times ) 90's (some good times ) and 00's (mainly s hit times ) . We;ve been to the Vauxhaull motors games , witnessed bucket collections and seen the likes of Steve Slade lead the front line !!!!!

Trust me ..... No one knows how this season will pan out (I know its not looking great atm ) but the position we are in with our owners and plans for the next generation of supporters is lot better than I could/ve wished for back when we could only field 6 or 7 professionals prte season !!

I'm guessing its those fans (say under 35 ) who never experienced the administration , Steve Slades, Karl Ready , Vauxhaull motors etc who are in the Hughes out camp and the rest of us who have witnessed / experienced propper dross are prepared to see how Hughes reign pans out !!! Maybe I've/ we've mellowed a bit with age !!

We are all genuine fans , willing on the same cause and we can;t help when we were born however sometimes people need to get a grasp and realise that we're a football club no bigger than say Watford ( in respect of fan base , achievements , ground size )yet there is an expectancy in some of our fans that we have a divine right to better off than we really are !!!!

I'm still in the Back Hughes Camp, but I'm half way up the perimeter fence! If we can't win against any of Reading, Stoke, or Soton, then it seems as though that should be it.

With that said, I can see the wisdom of just sticking with MH no matter what and hoping he pulls a rabbit out of the hat, on the premise that he has a better chance of turning it around than a newcomer. However, if he fails and it becomes clear we are going down under his leadership, I believe he will jump ship and try to lay the blame elsewhere, to avoid having a relegation on his record.

Just my take on how things are unfolding. With all that in mind, if we don't win one of the next two I'll be clear over the fence and into the other camp!
