Diakite is better further up the pitch, with Ale holding. Ale is more reliable in a tackle. Exactly as Spank says, let Diakite attack more, he has defenders ar$eholes twitching when he starts running at em.
I like the look of that 5 man midfield, but have to admit only for certain games - some games we surely need to go 2 up top? I am torn for the SToke game - on one hand I think packing the midfield is essential so we dont get bullied out the game, but then on the other I think having Zamora as a physical presence up there to occupy their CBs and allowing Cisse to give them the run around is the way forward. My opinions aside though, highly doubt Hughes will play 2 up top though.
My only concern is when Parks back fit will he stroll into the side ahead of Ale, being skipper n all? Criminal if he does, but I think he will. You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

We really missed faurlin against reading, he is a very anonymous player to a lot of people, but what he does really well is to find space to take the ball from the defense and distribute it. Before his injury, he controlled the whole game from just in front of the defensive line. Granero does this to some degree, but think he does not try and get the ball from the defenders enough as the role he likes to play is much higher up the field.

I will go seriously anti Hughes if he upsets Faurlin, who is an automatic choice for me every time. Ferdinand quite simply ain't up to it and I would give Derry (My Lord) a chance. Lucky it was Reading on Sunday as any other team would have murdered us. I shouldn't have to brick meself every time the oppo begins an attack but I do ...Heaven has a road, but no one travels it, hell has no gate but men will dig to get there

Diakite is better going forward.
Faulin is better at tackling.
Hughes will select Park ahead of Faurlin.
I would also like to see 5 man midfield so Stoke dont bully the team as West Ham did.
However, can see the sense in Zamora playing as Stoke will win a lot of set pieces and his feight would be useful.
I also think Hill is probably better in the air than Ferdinand and would rather he partnered Nelsen.
