SO frustrated this morning - it feels like I am repeating myself week in week out! Every game, I find myself predicting exactly what is gonig to happen. We are arguably the better team when we get gonig in a lot of games we play, yet we continue to gift goals to our opponents. When we go forward and attack, we look ike a decent side - but we cannot defend simple crosses. The amount of goals we must have let in at the back post, or simple balls in that are not clearer, is a MAJOR concern!
I dont really rememeber many goals this season that we have conceded, that have not been down to our own errors. If we sort out these schoolboy mistakes, we would have won a lot more games. Its very frustrating that the problems are clear, yet nothing is being done about it. Why cant our defenders win anything in the air, and defend - this is their job? Gorks was dominant in the air, got everything away and was a threat from set pieces. I cant name one of our defenders who has that sort of presence. Cant believe that although we signed some excellent players over the summer, we made no effort doing the same with out defence - which has always clearly been our weak point. Ferdinand has always been very average and a liability, and somethnig should have been done sooner to rectify this. We just have to hope that we are still in touching distance by January, otherwise I dont see any way back unfortunately. Best team ive seen on paper in years, but without quality defenders - theres no hope!
