  • Anybody Else Feel For Tony?

Tony Fernandes came into our club originally being doubted by alot of us scepticle fans, saying he didnt quite have the financial clout to back a PL side, saying he talked the talked but couldnt back it up etc. Tony has well & truely "walked the walk" so to speak, backed the gaffers to the hilt, brought in some top players, paying (no doubt) big wages and generally bent over backwards to give the gaffers what they need - and he is continually being let down.

Whether it be the manager or the players fault (a debate which been had a million times before, dont want to open that up again) - the bottom line is we are failing as a club, on the pitch. Us fans are being let down massively, as is Tony - I cant help but feel for the man tbh as he has done everything in his power to bring us what we want.

I know he has backed Hughes publicly alot, but I have to admit, I think this backing was based on TF's view that we win win today and be off and running (a view shared by myself and numerous other Rs fans). Now today has come and gone and that first win is still evading us, I think Fernandes is having a serious think as to whether Hughes can get us to where he wants us to be as a club. I 100% appreciate the whole stability thing, and nobody has been as against getting rid of Hughes as I have, but there must come a point where action needs to be taken - a point when the players and the dressing room lose faith and there is no going back? My personal opinion on it is that after the Southampton game will be the cut off point: if we dont pick up a win in either the Stoke or Southampton game, I think Hughes is gone. However, if we get a win in either of these games, I think his stay at the helm is extended. I seriously hope it's the latter - I really dont want another manager who, in turn, will no doubt have another huge turnaround of players in the transfeer window - the last thing we need really.

Its not too late at all yet, we are only 5 points adrift of safety, still with 84 points to play for - but the longer this elusive first win evades us, the bigger the mountain to climb becomes.

Oh I know mate dont get me wrong I dont think he is sitting their all emotional and shedding any tears - he is obviously pretty tough and can cut any sentiment to make his business decisions, but I do feel for the man as (as said above) he has done everything within his powers to make us a success and the players & manager are failing him massively. And us fans, also.

              Well said Matty
Feel desperately sorry for Tony, he really has more than proved he is serious about us and had to endure all the Wet Spam stuff as well. He has been let down by the players he has paid good money to first and foremost imo, think both Warnock and Hughes did and is doing his best, but the players just balls it up week after week. Ultimately Hughes will pay with his job as did Warnock, but imo neither became bad managers over night.

Bit sad. He looks like a emotional man. Not all businessminded. But sometimes he needs to be coldblooded. Hope he makes a big decision soon.

Youre right mate. 2 perfect examples: Mbia kicking out at Arsenal - how can Hughes have an influence over that? He cant. Tarbs kicking the ball at the keeper from 5 yards out today? These 2 alone are moments that, in the last 2 games, have cost us 3 more points than we currently have and are things the manager is not to blame for at all. But ultimatley the buck stops with Hughes I suppose and he takes the bullet for such mistakes.

Yeah spot on its the way it is, he'll get a good severance cheque so I'm sure he won't be too upset. What I'm concerned about mate is it will still be these same players when or if a new man comes in, so unless Mark Hughes has been instructing them to self destruct week after week how will Harry or whoever cut these mistakes and losses of head out? Plus if its Harry will he drop AT from the 11 and ultimately sell him him in Jan?

                      No sympathy.

Tony didnt buy QPR out of love or to lose money.

He makes the big calls and if he has any sense at all he will look at Mark Hughes as a manager and make the right call.

Tony had no sympathy for Neil Warnock.

This is a business pure and simple.

Personally I feel sorry for our supporters who have shelled out good money and been rewarded with total dross.
