  • Hughes: I'm not losing sleep over QPR

MARK Hughes reckons he has never lost a single night’s sleep fretting over QPR – although his wife has.

The man who celebrated his 49th birthday today is determined not to let the club’s travails interfere with his health, although wife Julie might be considering one of those snoring devices for her hubby.

“I’m very lucky in that respect. It doesn’t affect me in that way,” the manager said.

“My wife may question that on occasions when I’m snoring – but I have no problems.”

Hughes had a chuckle at the TV programme Freaky Sleepers where Torquay man Tom has twice jumped out of a window while asleep. Dave from St Helens attacked his wife during his slumber, and Christian from Kent regularly starts having sex with his partner while he is snoozing.

But the man in charge, reckons unlike the other potential coronaries in the Premier League, the trick is to lock the door on his office – and on his mind.

Hughes added: “I spend a lot of time at the training ground, and I try do all the work that needs to be done on a daily basis here.

“When I lock my office door, I can go home and clear my mind. It’s always in the back of your mind, but I can keep it there until I go back in the next day.

“A lot of managers can’t separate their personal life from their professional one – and that’s something I understand. But I can, and that’s something I’m grateful for."

People sound surprised, why would he lose sleep over QPR? He's a Chelsea boy,,,, sorry, Fulham boy. And he's getting paid a lot for doing **** all, best job in the world for him no doubt
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

If we win on Sunday ( and i think we will) it will be despite having the handicap of having him as a manager.

Just because he is able to sleep at night, does not mean he doesn't care!!! I sleep just fine every night but I care a great deal about my job and the position of my football club... not sure why people are reading anything into this! MH is professional if nothing else...

why does this mean he doesn't care about our club?

Look, let's be honest - unless we get an old player - what manager out there is going to care for our club as much as we do? no-one. We are fans. it what makes us passionate. managers will come and go - but a fan is a fan.

no-one is going to be good enough for our club if we keep putting ourselves on some pedestal of "QPR Love for the club and unless you eat sleep breath rangers you're going to be rubbish and i don't care about you because you don't know what all the troubles we've been through - only a ranger fan will know"

He's a manager, not a life long fan. it's a job for him. it'll be a job for the next manager. we need to accept that.

Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:
