worth a try tho Nik and i can see what you are getting at. Nice one.

In fairness, I think the whole "family club" kinda feel some people are getting it is something you only have when you are in the "lower" leagues. The PL is a whole different animal and is money based - dont think its possible to keep the same "family club" kind of vibes about a club once youre in the big time, I really dont.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Thing is Nik the 2 players you named are QPR fans themselves. George Santos put effort in, Gavin Mahon put effort in, are you thinking of them? Neil Warnock got our players putting effort in and did brilliantly in the Championship with it, but as matty says Prem is a different animal money based, and imo players can't survive on effort.
Although can I add I thought apart from say Swansea, maybe a couple of others the effort is there, along with mistakes.

My feelings too mate. As manager, he really should be doing an awful lot more to get the fans on his side. At the very least, it would ensure that he gets less of a hard time.

You can get away with playing players out of position, having next to no shots over the course of a game, making poor substitutions etc, when you are picking up points. When you are rock bottom with an expensive squad of what currently appear to be 'misfits', you should expect a bit of grief. He's lucky that most have been so patient up to now.

Yeah I probably shouldn't have used those examples aha, Yeah definitely the likes of Santos, Langley, and even Mahon as you said. I'm with you on the Premiership being all about money, but it would be nice for the players to show some passion, but I guess this will come as the players get more settled in here.

What we need to remember with Hughes is that to him this is just another job the club means nothing to him where as with the likes of ollie and Francis and John Gregory the fan base had the connection because if it hurts us it hurts them one of your own sort of thing . If anyone wants to see passion check out the John Gregory video on YouTube after Cardiff at home I think where he's so proud of the lads he's choking back tears and had to walk away from the camera , does me in every time . Neil and Gigi wore their hearts on their sleeves and were passionate again creating a connection with us fans . Now we're in an almost robotic state managerial wise where as I said before its just a job . Shame but its a fact

We used to be little qpr the underdogs, everybodies 2nd team we used to unearth rough diamonds, now we are qpr more money than sense 100k pw goalie, a 50k on the bench, sign everyone and sack everyone. no one likes us despised by most now.
signing players for what they can do off the pitch? Can we fill a new 40k super stadia? haha leave off we cant sell out 15k home tickets now.

I feel connected, but the lack of homegrown players is possibly why some don't feel connected.

Another is that Mark Hughes is not a former QPR player so has no real connection to the club. Also, he has a dour personality. And lastly 9 games without a win has left many fans very very frustrated.

                              This.

And I would add that there are no players that have been with us years, no Simon Barkers or Alan McDonalds.

The effort has been there in most games. as you say, some errors by players (and officials) have been made and these have proved costly.

The PL is all about money and the players in it are mostly mercenaries. For QPR even more so, because the youth set up has been dire since Chris Wright's financial mess so QPR pull out the FA's Youth Premier League system. Now the only decent players the club attracts are those being tempted by big wages.
