Thought the same thing the other day actually. Although we have Twitter, London Call in etc, I don't feel as connected as in the past.

Is it just me also, but I don't feel any connection with Hughes. Whereas in the past we've had real characters like Ollie, Neil and even Luigi, now i just see and hear the same monotone man, never actually see any of his character.

We feel far more commercial and Corporate Premier League, but I prefer uncommercial and lower league... but you can't have it all I suppose.

Agreed, that´s partly the reason why I feel the same way. In the the year of 2012 he has got to communicate with the fans when things are going bad.

Need more warmth and faith in players! and players need strong motivation.

in that aspect, Hughes isn't doing his job quite well, in my opinion.

maybe our league position doesnt help these feelings - if we were doing ok, mid table etc, there might still be that feeling of connection. Having said that, do miss the Championship if Im honest, and that has nothing to with our current prem position.....genuinely feel that way.

yer but i remember at the start of the season his demeanor was the same. Imagine being a player and having to work with the miserable ****.

Who produces miserable, dour football. And miserable, dour results.

Luckily for us though, he's one of the best managers in the PL.

I'm gonna be watching him closely after every goal we score on Sunday, to see how excited he gets. Don't suppose there's much chance of him doing a David Pleat. (Unless he's in his car)

Agree that I think its cause we ain't doing so well, but disagree with your other point about missing the championship. Those 15 years out of the top flight were awful and not what I am used to...QPR that I grew up with were outside the top division for 4 years only and still reached a 1st FA cup final then.

Do you feel less connected because of the manager, the results, the league position....the fact we are PL makes no difference as we are not unable to get tickets due to thousands coming out of the woodwork...because they haven't.

I think I feel same connection - in fact better in many ways due to TF. He may not get every shout right, but there is passion there for us to do well and he doesn't hide from the fans.

London Callin wanted questions for Tony who will be on the air tonight, so I sent in an email saying that we're losing that family club feeling, bond with the players etc...Suggested that the players should watch some old clips of us when we were ****e, to show how much effort the likes of Gallen, Bircham etc put in and the bond they had with the fans. They probably won't even mention the question to him let alone Tony actually doing it... However It's worth a shot!
