How didnt we contain then? We held them to 0-0 until the 84th minute as we went down to 10? Is that not containing then? If not I must be confused as to what is meant by containing a side.

Just for the record,I do not think MH should be sacked just yet,I think he has got till Begining of December to get it right.I think we have got the best squad of players in the bottom 6/8 teams at the moment but he has to get the best out of them and fast.
There comes a time when you have to start performing and getting results,if these dont come soon then Tony will have no other option.

Having said that most polls are strongly pro Hughes. So maybe its just a loud minority.
I think you will find that MH said we would not be in the same potion again while he was in charge, but here we are.

But surely your're not suggesting he be sacked for his inablity to predict the future correctly.

No i'm not saying he should be sacked,YET.He was very silly saying that in the first place but he set the bar.
Sacking any manager needs to be thought through very carefully, but he is not doing himself any favours with his team selections, tactics ect.
He has not got long to get this right and he knows it.

We could still be playing now and we still wouldnt have scored a goal. Reminded me of the City game, backs to the wall waiting for the inevitable.

So you were happy when we were letting in three goals virtually every game. A team that is getting thumped, first thing they have to sort out is keeping it tight and trying to cut out the goals. Last two games we have let in a total of two goals (one of them off-side) against two of the best teams in the country. No one is saying its going brilliantly, but I wd rather be playing as we are than Reading or Southampton who both look like letting in goals left right and centre.

Stability does not help if he you are stable and still rubbish. Arsenal were poor, and by the time we were regularly creating chances it was too late. That is because Hughes appears clueless about more flexible formations, which means we're undable to turn defence into attack in a meaningful, consistent way. When he was at Blackburn he could get away with it. Nowdays too many EPL sides have attacking options, and know how to break down a side which has come to park the bus, however craftily. The days have gone when you could go and shut up shop one week, and switch to 4-4-2 the next. Any manager who thinks like that these days is a liability. For me, that is the real root of the problem.
At some point all those in denial really need to get out the form book and check out MH's record. It's right down there with the worst managers we've ever had. This despite having the window last season and the summer. Even if we survive with Hughes in situ, do you really want to watch a boring, predictable team which will go on struggling because it is being inadequately managed?
