  • Hughes did promise us..

That we would never be in a relegation battle again, which was a bold statement to make, and has to live up to it !!
Dont agree with some of his selections but we are not even half way through the season yet and still have some easier games to play.
Once we get that 1st win there is a lot of pressure off, and its totally a mental thing.

We played Spurs off the park and it was only 1 minute of the game which led to a defeat we didnt deserve. If we had got a draw that game, Spurs would have been happy.

Faurlin,Granero, and even Taarabt have all given Hughes there backing so I dont think he has lost the dressing room at all.

Some are so quick to call for his head, but need to remember the wins we had last season under him.

Let's look at the evidence. The league table doesn't tell me we played well against the likes of Spurs, it tells me we lost. It tells me we've played 9 games, lost 6 drawn 3 won 0 and have a goals deficit of 11 already. Last season we didn't win an away game under Hughes and came 4th from bottom.

We need to stop kidding ourselves. Whether we're playing well or not is not what counts. One person may say we played well, another might say we were rubbish. What counts is points on the board and our collection so far is pathetic. Ultimately that is what decides success or failure.

I'm fed up of these daft statements such as 'we need time to gel', or 'we'll be fine', or 'we have quality players'. It's all b0ll0x. I look at the league table and it annoys me. There is no need for us to be in this position because we have a pretty good squad. It could have been better had Hughes properly addressed our defence and attacking options, which he neglected to do. What kind of squad goes into a league season with just three recognised strikers and three recognised fullbacks? Our manager thought it was ok to do that. Many of us disagree with what he did.

Our game tactics are too predictable. As Flavio would say it's always 4-4-2 4-4-2 4-4-2. Even when our two centre midfielders are getting slaughtered, Hughes does sod all about it. If M'bia and that newspaper report is to be believed, we don't do much tactical work in training. Our performances on the pitch seem to bear that out.

Don't tell me we've played well in this game or that, take a look at the league table. That's the only thing that counts. That is the true measure of our performance. For me, Hughes has from last week's game against Everton until the Villa game, and much less than 12 points and he should go. I'm not interested in any nonsense about individual mistakes, injuries and sendings off. Every club has the same issues, and if Hughes can't coach against these errors or instil discipline into the squad then that's his fault. These are, in the main, his players, his signings.

No more excuses Hughes, sort it out or sod off.

        Good post, agree with you.
I'd say Reading, Saints and Stoke will be MH last 3 games unless we get at least 5 points. If we don't, I think we'll be too far behind and Tf will have no option, there's too much at stake. The remit of a manager, in any profession, is to get the best out of who you are managing. No one can say MH has done that. This includes managing their behaviour. Last year, we had 9 red cards and now it's 2 in 9 games. That's 11 in 47 games, almost 1 red card every 4 games. How can we progress wth a record like that, putting aside tactics, team preparation, motvation issues, etc, etc, etc. KEEPING 11 MEN ON THE FIELD WOULD BE A START
Playing catch up in this league is very hard.
        The Clock is ticking

You are kidding right? 9 unlucky games on the trot this season and every away game since he's been here, wake up and smell the beans.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree about being unlucky. Luck works both ways.

And what if we lose to Reading, which has already happened this season. Hughes will do just fine will he?

Hughes doesn't show positive body language - I miss Neil jumping up and down urging the team on. Where's the passion?

have to agree with this, he doesn't demonstrate any fire, passion and desire
his body language never changes, almost emotionless, strange to me
how excited are we, as fans, when we score, you'd think the manager would be excited too, it doesn't seem so
I've said it before, against Reading, Stoke and Saints we have to produce a decent return, otherwise TF will get rid, no queston about that. It will too late otherwise

True and in that game the midfield included Faurlin and Granero. Faurlin should have started yesterday because he with Diakite and Granero would have been more than a challenge for Wilshire, Arteta and Carzola in Arsenal's midfield. But Hughes played a winger in midfield and asked attacking players like Taarabt and Hoilett to assist in the midfield battle (which QPR completed lost) and this made it an impossible job for Zamora to pose any sort of threat to the shaky Arsenal defence.
