  • Black Players Union

So this has come out as a potential outcome. What are your thoughts?

I personally feel that it won't achieve much under that title. It will segregate instantly people due to the colour of their skin.

What if a player is mixed-race? Which one do they sign up to? What if they value both ethnicity values in his heritage?

Another issue I have with it is the idea that "black" is still a term that can be used. In this day and age "black" draws in a HUGE amount of nations and backgrounds. In the 50s and "wind-rush" the term "black" was used predominantly to signify people from the West Indies. However, now there are so many different "black" communities in Britain that it cannot still be used. Does "black" mean the sub-Saharan African countries, predominantly French speaking? Does it mean Afro-Caribbean? Does it mean British? What generation black-british?

And how about this? What if I want to support black players, how do I show my support if I am not allowed to join because I am not "black"?

Many questions I'm sure this will bring up.

(One last thing - I do feel that all this in-fighting is not doing us any faviours when pleading/demanding that UEFA/FIFA lay a huge sanction on Serbia when we have our players not being able to unite on our own ground)

agree with a lot of that, to be fair we are one of the most tolerant countries in the world, what Terry said was wrong but was said in the heat of a hostile cauldron. I'm tellling you if it was reversed, ''white c***'' it would not have had a fraction of this publicity, what happened in Serbia is a more worrying development

Rio and the b.p.u have rightly called out the FA / kick it out and started the process that the F.A rhetoric would have you believe actually works.

Its about time the FA funny hanshake club had a wake up call and were made to explain some of there behaviour to an independent group who wont roll over.

I think the sooner that everybody just ignores the colour of someone else's skin, the better.

Bloody do-gooders make me sick. Surely only an idiot cannot see that it would be the MOST devisive thing that could happen.

That's so true, the only time I actually think about it is when it's on the news.

I hope it doesn't happen, as I think it would lead to more problems than it could hope to solve IMO.

As far as I've seen it's only one lawyer who's mentioned the discussion. The mere mention of it should wake the FA and PFA up a bit though.

Rio and Anton have released a statement, which looks as if they're trying to draw a bit of a line under things tbf

i think that the fa believes that in England every thing is rosy and we have sorted racism out yet a lot of black players are say otherwise.

The FA are an outdated old boys club, the mistakes thay have made over the years are nothing short of criminal. From shunning brian clough to appointing dreadful england managers on massive contracts , dodgy builders and shoe horning the national stadium back into the karzi that is wembley when the opportunity was there to totally redevelop the midlands . Still there paying the price now!

The irony is if a white person / group / union suggested black players go and form their own federation, it would be a scandal.

Wembley, one of the worst areas to get to and to get out of, the new national stadium should have been built in the midlands
