This. Every player goes through a patch struggling for form, you dont become a bad player over night, we know he can find the net given half a chance. He will come good, given games. Id like to see the same side that started yesterday again vs Arsenal but with Cisse in for Zamora - Arsenal are a ball playing side and so we dont need to rely too much on Zamoras physical presence up there. Vermaelen & Mertesacker are hardly blessed with pace, if Cisse manages the offisde a bit better he will certainly get himself a few chances against em I think.

what i couldnt understand was why did mh take off bz??? surely at home against ten men it should have been a midfield player coming off and cisse up front with bz! it smacked of we are happy with a draw to me and thats just not good enough!

Of course me having placed a token bet before the start of the season on Cisse to be in the Top 4 PL scorers this season might have mildly affected my judgment

He certainly seems hungry but he never gets to start matches nowadays and he does not seem to be an impact sub of the Mackie calibre. I want to see him start a match, why not against Arsenal, what have we got to lose

Every time I watch a home match I keep hearing the crowd singing Ole Cisse - long before he is brought on as a sub. We clearly still have faith in him, pity that Hughes doesn't.

Love that song, must get Cisse right up for it. Really really hope he starts some games soon, if not Arsenal, certainly needs to vs Reading.

I guess he has been very affected by his divorce. But hopefully, he will enjoy his fotball anytime soon.

Cisse plays best when teams defend higher and he can play off the shoulder of the defender. He needs space to run into so he can use his pace. Yesterday the game was very compact with Everton putting a lot of men behind the ball. It was always gonna be harder for him to find the space he needs.

That doesn't excuse his poor decision making though. Namely his constant offsides and his aimless shot at the near post when there were clearly better options.

I'm surprised Zamora is coming under such criticism. I thought the shape of front three worked well yesterday; that said Zamora didn't have his best game. We need Zamora to do the hold up play to bring Taraabt and Hoilett into the game, I can't see Cisse doing that role for the team, so I struggle to see how we'd accommodate him unless Hughes drops Hoilett.

I think Hughes got his starting XI spot on yesterday, so for him to change it would be counter productive. We need to build on good performance and build some consistency.

Also it's worth keeping in mind that Zamora has caused a lot of problems to Arsenal in the past. He scored the winner against them for Fulham last season. We will need someone to bully them around the pitch.

Bottom line Cisse cannot play up front on his own, so what do we play 4-4-2? the same 4-4-2 that saw West Ham totally over power us in midfield? Where does Tarbs play on the wing? that will prob leave the fullback isolated. Hoilett on the other side? and drop Park? So we lose cover on both FBs and take out the most industrious player we have. Just my thoughts

Agree with this, Cisse can't play as a lone striker.
Also he needs to show allot more when coming off the bench to warrant a start.
Ok yesterday I was harsh but the bloke looks like he needs a kick up the ####!

Lets not panic and take the positives from yesterdays game, and there were plenty of them.

What we need to do is keep a settled side, something mainly due to injury's we have not been able to achieve.

For me the side that started yesterday, was the best side I have seen hughes pick. I see plenty of potential with the samba and Granero partnership and liked I've said I prefer Samba as a driving player and further up the pitch so I still think there is a place for faurlin in the side. I think holliet can play like a 2nd striker because he has a decent strike on him.

I am not sure why people see cisse as a solution, the solution is to try and get a settled side because changes won't do us any favours and the players that started against everton deserve time. If we wasn't bottom of the league we wouldn't even contemplate changes. Still very early days so no need to press the panic button just yet and the 91 season should tell you that, where we finished 11th
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Totally agree with this. He is hopeless with his back to goal. In yesterday's formation the only feasible position for him would be instead of Hoilett (unless Junior was to play in Adel's position). We have a problem in that we don't have a good alternative to Zamora to link play so when Zamora fades (as he did in the second half) we have a problem, especially against teams that sit deep. The full backs are vital in such a situation and it was good to see both Traore and Bosingwa in support (even though not 100% fit).

All these fans on his back/saying he is woeful etc will soon be posting how great he is when he starts scoring and banging in a few. He is still by a million miles the best finisher at QPR. If he was playing and missing chance after chance i would be more worried. When he gets the one goal then a fair few will follow and all these negative posters will be saying how great he is etc.

Well at least Cisse gets into positions where he may get onto a through ball even if he does stray offside, cannot see Zamora doing the same thing he lacks pace big time.

Well said ...Cisse is not the same at moment as last year, I agree that was our best team out there yesterday as most before ko thought too, and yes we do need to keep a settled side.........good post, makes alot of sense to me.
