That's great news, didn't realise they had so many out.

We might have a bit of chance to be fair. For once, just once, I'd love us to think f*** it, they've got some injuries, we've got nothing to loose, let's go for it and take the game to them. Although I think Hughes would need about 10 pints before he considered anything like that.

I don't think having their keepers out will bother them, given most of our team seem scared to ever shoot....

        I

I agree with you del,we as a team just dont get that ball into dangerous positions ,i remember the impy and sinton days when we had wingers who could break from midfield and get onto the line and cross the ball and create so much damage now we have all these midfield players that keep trying to do the only thing thaty hughes has trained them to do which is to try and pass to zamora, how many times did our ridiculous passes leave cisse offside, why didnt anybody try to get down the line past the defender, then try to cross the ball

You're right and i think part of our downfall this year is because we have midfielders who are either central or narrow type players they don't try to run and beat players like a typical winger. Even Hoilett and Taarabt, who can beat men tend to come inside for a shot. The only players we have with that mentality are SWP, who's permanently lambasted no matter how well he plays (and by the way against West ham in the 1st half got great balls into the box and Zamora / Granero skied sitters he created for them and one was touched away from cisse for a corner, yet people still expected more) and Ephraim.

As a result, our width is expeceted to come from the FB's bombing forward, but this then leaves us exposed at the back when the inevitable counter attack comes.

              looking

looking at our performance this season i wonder, would we have been better keeping warnock and then let us see what he could have done,we are not just sitting bottom of the league we are also in a situation that it dosnt look as though we can get out of the muck

certainly nine million pound was spent on a midfield player needlessly, that money should have gone on a superstar striker

we spent too much on midfield players and then let helgerson go and he was so vital because he was our leading scorer last season

If he scores a hattrick on Saturday is he good enough then !
He had a poor game against Everton but all strikers have off games

Why do people keep banging on about wingers getting crosses in? It's not the 80s anymore. We have decent grass pitches and can play passing football through the middle now, like the fancy europeans used to do back in the day. Wide midfielders/forwards/wingers do so much more than 'stick crosses in the box', especially when playing the formation we do, with only really zamora to aim at.

                      Besides, crossing is very inefficient.

And one of those was Cisse's fault.

Is crossing against the rules then? Giving the ball away is very inefficient too, but we still do that!!

Blimey you talk like crossing isn't part of the modern game. Did you see man utd's goals at the weekend....? Or half the goals in the champions league last night....?

nothing gets the juices flowing more than seeing a winger roast a full back and send over a cross for the centre forward to bury the ball in the back of the net, alternatively you may prefer the diamond formation ala Man. Utd. last night, which was as entertaining as watching paint dry
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
