I'm neither bitter or unfriendly, i just think people need to wake up a bit.

Does anyone seriously think these "fly-by-night" korean fans are crucial to our future? I think building up a decent fanbase from the local area is much more pertinent

Honestly I cannot imagine Korean tourists squeezing out local fans. In the recent years, even after promotion, even after signing Park, we have had only some home matches that are complete sell-outs, despite ours being a modest-capacity ground. So it is very rare when someone who wants to attend a match at a short notice cannot get a ticket, unless it is a high-profile game and then it is of course prudent to book your tickets in advance and in the latter situation I think local fans who are on the database have a better chance of that than random tourists

A lot of this negative stuff was posted about a few Moroccan / Adel fans, when he joined on loan. A few years ago now. And I still like watching the occasional video of him that they sometimes post. Particularly as he is one of the very few entertainers at our club.

Korean fans will never replace local fans, unless of course we get so fed up of each other having digs that we just cannot be bothered with it any longer. Could we not just enjoy their input for now and see how it goes?

Don't forget, the majority of our fans only support Rangers because their dad did.

          ConorM1882,
Forgive me if I am confusing you with someone else, but don't you have a brother? Don't you live in a place where travelling to Rangers is a bit of a trek, although you still do it? If I'm right, ask him how welcome he was made to feel when he did something a little out of the ordinary a few years ago. By fans who are from the local area, had supported Rangers all their lives and quite frankly, were old enough to know better. And since that time, I've been deprived of his regular stories which were always good to read.

I only support them because my mum did (and still does) and took me to games as a kid

This is pricing out other people from the local area who caould bring their kids and create a new generation of rangers fans. I would rather have these fans in LR who will be there for life, even if we were playing Port-Vale away on a freezing tuesday night game.

I went to the Reading Game in the carling cup, as a lot os season tickets holders didnt go, there were thousands of korean fans, who only made a noise when park was on the ball. The atmosphere in the ground that night was the worst i ever saw at LR.

I appreciate you need the Korean fans to increase the dwindling numbers on this board, but don't try and feed me the BS that these are the type of fans the club needs just to keep them posting. We need a fanbase from the local area that will be filtered down through generations, not disappear when Hughes isn't scared to drop him.
So as the match was way short of a sell out you think it would have been a better atmosphere if, instead of our new friends from Korea, we had yet more empty seats? And if there were still seats available, why were local fans being priced out? And as I come from Kent and have never lived anywhere near W12 should I not be allowed to support QPR either, or is your dislike purely on racial grounds? Or do you object to new fans, ignoring that we were all new fans once (I started supporting us in 1976 as an 8-year-old because I liked the strip - that was a far more superficial reason that those who support us because they like Park)? And do you want our club to grow or are you happy with having the second lowest fan base in the Premiership?

no one is pushing out local fans - just about every single game in the last 10 years has gone on general sale and very few have sold out even in the home end.

The price increases that hurt all happened before Park.

The "you are a racist" response. Just to clarify, i am not.

We used to have kids for a quid promotions and alike at the cup games. I think if the owners are planning for the future and increasing our fanbase, deals like this are fantastic as it is a good way of bringing new supporters to the club who will support the team for life.

If Park was dropped, and we were playing a division 2 club in the cup, how many of these Korean fans would be there? I also wonder whether if we knew we were going to have 5k korean fans in loftus road, whether that may influence the choice of team.

I think some people need to wake up and realise that TF's insistence on cross-marketing his airline with QPR is going to cause conflicts of interest, and i think it is clear that his priority is his airline over a football team at the bottom of the premiership

Beat me to it, well said. Some people just use this as an excuse not to go IMO.

Must admit, I was expecting a much more aggressive welcome to our new fans:

Some of the reasoning that some have given have begged the question of WTF are you on?

I was fairly fortunate like quite a few on here, where as I didn't choose my team, I inherited it from my dad; however, I need to have a word with my mum, as she only supported The Rs because Dave Thomas had nice legs; I should also speak to my wife about this, as unlike me, she was born 1000's of miles away from LR, but after I took her to a few games when we lived in London, she sort of liked it, as it was a bunch of athletic dudes running around for 90 minutes in shorts.

If the majority of our new fans decide to move on when/if Park leaves; then shouldn’t we be trying to enjoy their input as much as possible now?

As a previous post mentioned, we had a few AT fans jump onboard when he arrived at LR & some of their input on AT & the occasional video was very enjoyable.

God forbid should we attract any new Spanish fans now that The Pirate is doing well, & let’s hope them damn Brazilians with their limited football knowledge don’t join our ranks now that we have a World class shot stopper with us.

Reminds me of travelling abroad when younger & listening to my parents, talking louder in English when a non English speaking person tried to communicate with us. They truly believed that by shouting would make them more understandable.

As for Satinrodisalegend; what were you thinking about? An 8 year old supporting a team because you liked their strip? Plastic fan if there ever was one! I do hope that you don’t buy tickets that were destined for real supporters.

Did we set up a new forum for Moroccan fans? Did we do a tour of Morocco for Taraabt?

Tony wants the Korean fans because of his airline, i am sure he will want us to sign more Korean players in jan and next summer because he wants the Koreans advertising his airline. It is possible i may be being paranoid, but with a manager who's job is on the ropes come January, do you think he will be strong enough to say to TF "I don't want to sign any of these Korean players that you keep recommending, and i'm dropping Park as he is toilet."

Next summer we be signing all the Korean Pellicori's

To be honest, you point makes sense mate! Indeed some support QPR because Park is now our player. But please bear in mind that there are many korean fans who are supporting other clubs like Athletic Bilbao though there is no Korean player.

This indicates that QPR might gain some forever fans regardless of Park's future. It's still not sure, but if QPR play our own football and be gentle to all, we will no doubt have formal fans

agree mate..Park was signed to sell shirts and promote TF's airline. He should never have been made Captain and tbh i cant see how he gets in the team every week either. Publicity stunt written all over it.
