  • Faurlin: QPR players have let Hughes down

ALEJANDRO FAURLIN reckons QPR’s players have let boss Mark Hughes down this term.

Now the Argie midfielder says it is payback time and he has vowed to put things right against Everton today.

Rangers are anchored to the bottom of the Premier League after a miserable start to the season.

Sparky brought in 12 players over the summer after last season’s great escape but his side have yet to win a game in seven attempts.

And Faurlin, 26, has called on his team-mates to show some courage and start playing for their under-fire boss Hughes.

He said: “We’ve worked hard in training but I feel we have let down the manager a little bit.

“It’s disappointing and frustrating when you see the table. We don’t like to be at the bottom but we just have to look ahead and try to win the next game.

“We knew it would take time to get to know each other but obviously you never think you will have such a negative run. But we are a strong group with some good players and if we work hard then we will get results. Now we have to be brave and try to beat Everton.”

Faurlin was a key man in QPR’s promotion campaign in 2010-11 but missed the second half of last season after rupturing his cruciate.

He was left out by Hughes for the 3-2 defeat against West Brom last time out but admitted he is just delighted to be able to play again.

Faurlin added: “It was very disappointing for me personally because I was enjoying playing in the Premier League and then I got injured.

“I fought for 7½ months to get back. I didn’t see my family back in Argentina for more than a year because I was working so hard to get fit.
“That was hard for me but I’m happy to be back and that is in the past now.”

Faurlin is expected to partner Esteban Granero in midfield at Loftus Road today. And he reckons Rangers have shown real ambition with signings like the £9million man from Real Madrid.

He added: “We’ve improved the quality and it’s nice to have Esteban from Real, Julio Cesar from Inter and Ji-Sung Park from United.
“It’s a pleasure to work with these type of players.

“They are used to a different type of pressure in terms of winning games and fighting to win titles.

“We are now on a negative run and at the bottom of the table so I guess that may be different for them.

“But they are top-drawer professionals so with that quality we can only do well.”

Everton have made a blistering start to the season and have already won twice away from home this term.

But Faurlin has tipped QPR to grow in confidence — if they can pick up their first three points of the season this afternoon.

He said: “We’ve had a difficult start to the season but we know something is missing and we need to focus even more by not conceding early goals.
“When we get the win we can start to enjoy our football again.”

Personally I've had enough of player after player being wheeled out to let everyone know that they've let the manager/fans/their wives/their cats down after another loss.......just ****ing well get on with it and start winning then.......also, if I had lety bosses down eight times I would have been ****ed off along time ago

This. Talk is cheap, need to back it up with some wins on the pitch.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
