I remember as a kid playing youth football my mum was always really into it, always supporting me. I played for the school and had Saturday and Sunday leagues. Always gave up her free time to take me to games, home and away. In the car home, she always had better input than my actual managers about what I did well and how I could improve. And she was never one to pull her punches.

I must admit, at the time I didn't appreciate how good I had it. Am fortunate enough to have known many women who are as much into footy, and got to say it's a bit of a turn off if I'm interested in a woman and she doesn't know anything about it.

Yeah it's sexism, cos I don't believe women and football go together :-) netball, hockey etc is where you girls live.

What is SO wrong with women being involved in football, liking football, supporting football, and being knowledgable about football? If women like football - so what....! Christ, there certainly some outdated, victorian and neanderthal opinions out there on this subject. A lot of fella's enjoy cooking, ballroom dancing, watching ballet, musical theatre, which is great....all of which are deemed to be the preserve of women by these cavemen!! Get real!

But that's just a list of well known homosexuals - Spence, Barrowman and Sleep are involved in those granted....but what does that show? how do you know for sure that the others love all "that stuff".. you dont. Just because they are gay, you assume they like these things - how narrow minded and dare I say it, very neanderthal. Stephen Fry likes his football and darts, as does Elton of course. Anyway, if anyone was going to pick up on my post, it was going to be yourself - and typically no surprise there!

A lot of us are obviously not so far on the evolutionary ladder as you, you may even reach a true gender less state of being before i finish this packet of crisps.

Yes, I think the word neanderthal, is a very appropriate description to descibe the attitude that you and your kin have. Thats why I use it! Evolutionary ladder wise, you are spot on for once and couldn't agree more!
