in 1989 in the top flight charlton v qpr just over 6000 and the boxing day fixture chelsea v qpr 18000. Was this because of the ultra violence or post hillsborough/heyshal where supporters had enough and boycotted the game?

to be fair it`s a not round the corner for Charlton fans to come to Selhurst for every home game ,they had to come into town ,then go right back out every other week , also some of our away support at Charlton /Palace over the years has been pretty low.
As for the Chelsea games , because they used to swamp LR and bully our family/scarfer supporters so badly , loads of family fans never used to attend Chelsea /Rangers matches. Anyone who was there in the 70s or 80s can tell you what a bunch of bullying/cowardly w ankers chelsea were. I`m not talking about their "firm" here , i`m talking about their average p issed up ,racist ,stupid fans.Rangers,Scooters ,Tunes and Trainers
