another strange experience
another strange experience was related to Barnet away we arrived in great numbers but all hell broke out it turned out to be one of the most violent games ever
every few minutes bricks flew over and hit people on the head so none of us could watch the game because we were frightened of getting bricked across the head
AFTER THE GAME THE RUMOUR WAS THAT MILLWALL HAD TRAVELLED ,WHETHER IT WAS TRUE OR NOT I DONT KNOW
but it was seriously dangerous

I think it was just to have a pop at us Vespa not firmed up with Barnet. I went to Barnet v Cardiff cup game early 90s and that was lively."The kids missed everything from Queens Park Rangers to Conkers".

We used to go down to Sutton Utd whenever another London club came or someone with a bit of a name. Yoevil , were f ucking mental we numbered about 25 and thay came with over 100 boys and the rest of their bumpkin support was up for it too ! they brought about 700 too , the crowd was only 1100ishRangers,Scooters ,Tunes and Trainers

Here are a few I recollect ...
Bristol City away about 30 years ago when away support was just about 100 or so. I was at the back of a long line of us walking to the ground from the station when a mob of them came running out of a pub and started lobbing all sorts ... everyone turned around and legged it and I was now in front leading the charge back to the station!
West Brom in the cup semi-final at Highbury ... was on the only coach from the Springbok and it was parked in with their coaches (typical) and four of us got surrounded but we held 'em off ... and I got a truncheon over me head from the old bill for my troubles ... fond memories though as I had £100 at 4/1 on the R's and £50 on Grittar at 6/1 in the National ... quite a punt in them days if I may say so myself!
The Barnet game I remember well ... got nasty behind the goal and I thought sod this for a 'larf and made a strategic withdrawal to the half way line. All of a sudden about 12 Millwall come along and started singing ... well, all the heads behind the goal turned around and there was a big surge forward as panic ensued!
Never a dull moment that's for sure following the R's ...
Heaven has a road, but no one travels it, hell has no gate but men will dig to get there
