and as for Clint hill at L/B too slow and will get crucified there by his own admission
Agree with this. Fabio should be RB Bosingwa's back up and no more.

too many midfielders and strikers already
I agree with the comments about the defence. Too many midfielders yes, but we're well short of strikers.

Definitely like to see a new striker in January. Bent wouldn't be my first choice.

I wonder whether there were more transfer targets from the Summer that will now be available in January?

If we are still struggling as badly as we are now I'd be very surprised if players of the calibre of Bent would want to come to us. We also shouldn't just assume that the board will be happy to chuck another £6m here and £8m there. Anyone who doesn't think Bent would be a step up from Rob Hulse as an additional striker or as a replacement for Hogan Ephraim in the 25 man squad, well, I think I'll just leave it there...

Those two points crossed my mind too, although I'm hoping we won't be in the position we are now come jan. I also think that maybe MH has been told he won't get money in jan when he opened the door to DJ to come back almost as soon as he had gone out on loan

Indeed, having shipped 12 goals in our last four games - three of which were against clubs we could be fighting relegation battles with - the priority is clearly going to be a commanding and probably expensive centre half. dawson wd be 8m, samba 12m, shawcross, god knows. Be very surprised if the board are going to want to bring in Bent and thus potentially bring January spending up to 20 odd million. Just amazes me that even if Fernandes/ Amit did do that there wd still be some on here turning their noses up...

He will be our greatest asset. bit too expensive but I would go for him. Still not sure if Villa would sell him to us.
