If there is any truth in us spending 6m, then I would hope we sign a player who is of a much higher standard than Darren Bent.

The bloke does occasionally pop up and score the odd goal, but has a great knack of doing bugger all.

We are in the bottom 3 and players like darren bent and cisse are not the type of players we need.

Genuine question who would you expect us to get of any proven goal scoring quality for £6m? He has a decent average & has always scored goals. Gone off the boil at villa yes but the manager clearly doesn't fancy him so can understand the lack of form.

His goal record is clearly decent at club level but I definitely make him fav, for most overrated player.

In our position he is not the type of player I want. He goes missing far to often and we need someone who has an all round game.

Still gutted we didn't get Carroll who I think will do very well for west ham

Either way, they paid £24m for him about 18 months ago so can't see them letting him go for 25% of their investment.

I take it your classiing Fabio as a left back well if you've been to the Rs you will know this guy is not a left back and never will be can't kick the ball with his Left foot always out of position as a left back? he may be a right back possibly but deffo not a left sided player
and as for Clint hill at L/B too slow and will get crucified there by his own admission

i get my hair cut at his barbers where one of his childhood friends manages the place, judging by what hes told me i wouldnt be keen on having him sign. he sounds like everything that is wrong about modern footballers, on the other hand he does know how to put the onion in the basket (but so do players we have already).
