An article that carries the weight and authority that only a semi-official press release can. We must assume this to be true. Johnson goes on to offer 5 pieces of advice all of which most QPR fans would agree with:

Win away from home - it has been 10 months now, Hughes has never done it, the travelling fans have got to be rewarded
Consistent selection - 21 players have so far been given a start, he's got to make his mind up and stick to it
Improve morale - at a low ebb at the moment and not just because of all the loses, no one knowing whether they are in the team or not, fall outs with the manager and then the cold-shoulder, all the players on different pay-structures, too many new players, a cold and distant manager
Tighten at the back - this has got to get better, injuries aside there seems little organisation and game plan, leaving our defenders looking like headless chickens
Improve discipline - what was Diakite doing, having made the same mistake last season, why did he repeat it, why didn't Hughes see it coming.

    I would add

Be less of a control freak - Hughes, having surrounded himself by yes-men (Fernandes notwithstanding), Hughes wants to control every aspect of the club. He's got to listen to others, let players breathe and be themselves, let players like Tarrabt express themselves, be less inflexible and if something isn't working in a game then change it. Hughes seems to think it's about him being right, when it's not, it's about the team, Stop blaming bad luck like this is something you can't control. As everyone knows you make your luck, we are simply not making it at the moment. And he's got to lighten up a bit. Man this guy is so po-faced serious. Perhaps if Hughes looked like he was enjoying it more then the players might enjoy it more too. I don't want a change, and I don't want Harry, I want Hughes to take us up the table. Come on Mark, carry on the same and it won't happen, change your attitude, perspective, and style a little and you just might!

Good post. the man has a certain arrogance about him that is begining to phish me off ,Man up and start shouldering the blame

Depending on how far adrift at the bottom the club is, I am tempted to say give him all season. Everton didn't give up on Moyes in the seasons they struggled and Wigan kept faith in Martinez.
However, one thing I wouldn't accept is if he insists on selecting SWP in the team.

i want MH to succeed..i want it for the stability too..no doubt though, with all my best wishes and understanding all mitigating reasons, mostly out of MH's
hands..with the record so far the pressure will increase everyday...bigtime..still one win and all smiles!

I'd give him the full season. But I'll readily admit that if we've not won a game by Christmas that sacking would not be a harsh enough punishment.

we should sack a player, SWP. this would put a rocket up the other players a rs es and show the manager who the real boss is :=):

I think we will too, but then I have thought we would get a result before every game this season

We are in unchartered territory now. Virtually all of us were more confident than we have been in years pre-season. Sure, we knew the defensive frailities had not been sufficiently addressed but we thought we had enough about us, particularly in midfield, to see us clear of danger. Now the defeats are starting to weigh and the pressure mounts. We are in a curious situation. Going forward we have a lot of flair and no one wd be that surprised if we stuck three or four past a team. But equally our defence and lack of midfield protection for it is now so pronounced that whenever we let in a goal no one wd be surprised if we let in three or four more. One win and we cd get a run going. But equally I wd not take it for granted that we will suddenly click and turn it round. Our season on a knife edge. I'm just for backing the team and manager because the positivity of the crowd might just push us over the line. And because no one has come up with a plausible alternative.

That's exactly it for me, we need to back the manager and those who want to get rid of him don't really have anyone in mind except Harry Redknapp. Imagine he went to Bolton, who would they want then? If there was a better long term solution than Hughes I wouldn't think it so crazy.

I said in pre-season, the PL is a tough beast. There's no mugs, except us it would seem. We're currently the team everyone wants to play and this is why this run is so disastrous the longer it goes on. One win will not be enough, we need back to back wins asap. Once we do that I'll feel a lot better about our chances of staying up. Without that, we will be in a relegation battle all season and surely this is not what will help the club grow as Tony wanted.

I think the marker will be the Villa game in December, game number 15. If we haven't made much progress, Hughes will be gone. It will give time for a new manager to see a few games, assess the squad, and then the transfer window in January.

Wins at home against Reading, Southampton and Villa, draws against Everton, Stoke and Sunderland, and sod all against Arsenal and Man Utd. 12 points minimum in the next 8 games. Even if we achieve that, 14 points from 15 games is poor.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

No way will they persist in him if this shocking form continues for another 2 months, that would be suicidal

We do have an easier run of fixtures coming up soon, so no need to panic, just yet. On a side, issue, I'm not sure him not smiling enough and being dour is a sackable offence. On his wages, I'm sure he's smiling on the inside.

He'll be with us until the end of the season and beyond. The only thing that will see him leave is if his position becomes untenable due to results i.e we still don't have a win by December.

I still think we'll be fine. I also think we'll bring in either Dawson, Samba or the French kid Utd were after to go in at CB.

Agreed. We must get stabilty at the club now. Players are to blame as well. I dont care if he smiles or not. Do also remember that we have a lot of players injured atm.

PS. Have someone shouted; "give us a wave,Mark" to him?? Try that one!
