  • Not a million miles away from it coming right

Ok the first half was a little shambolic but overall I honestly do not think we were two bad and had Boswinga nabbed that late chance then most fans would be a lot happier this morning

We have seen the team perform well agaist Spurs and Chelsea so we know the quality is there in the squad but sometimes all a team needs is a lucky own goal or a dodgy penalty decision given for them and the tide turns

Hopefully with the International break the team can concentrate on the defence issues and get an injury free squad available and I think we will see things take a turn for the better

Agree that we looked excellent against chelsea and spurs but after that our midfield two got bullied against reding and west ham. We looked good 2nd half on sat but how much did we actually create? We need to get diakite in the middle (despite the risk he carries). Move mbia to centre half alongside nelson and then the spine of the team will be solid and have some bite.

I adree that I dont think we're too far away? the football is good, attack wise we dont look bad we keep the ball well, but defensively
we are shocking we have players who are just not up to it Ferdinand who's only had 1 decent game Chelsea! at home and Hill gets roasted at left back we look totally unorganised at the back giving teams a head start.Traore hasto start at L/B he's the only one we've got?

          A fair point Isleworth.

My concern though is we have played well and picked up diddly squat.

Playing well and taking nothing from games is a very bad recipe as when we play bad i.e. first halves against Hammers and WBA were 2 goals down and the game is beyond us

We need to find a way of playing well for longer periods as 45mins a game is not enough and if we are only going to perform for 45mins we need a plan B which allows us to see out a game should we get ahead

Nice to see a little sense being spoken.

Consistency is everything and we've had none due to injuries. How many times have we been able to field the same back four this season? No surprise that the Anton that performed so well against Chelsea was absent on Saturday after a couple of weeks out. If our first choice back line gets to play a string of games together they will improve to an extent that means they will look like a unit rather than 4 disparate individuals. Then, as long as we are still scoring goals, we will head in the right direction.

I agree, but for all our possession in the second half we had one shot.bobby holds it well then knocks it back into midfield,we need someone to turn and have a crack on goal at every opportunity
              Ooh northern lads love gravy

Agreed but the only player we have who has the pace to do that is Cisse and he seems out of favour at the moment

That's my concern.... all posession and nice interplay in midfield is fine, if you create chances. Foster didnt have a save to make that i can remember, which isnt good enough. Also i feel many seem blinkered to always say Zamora plays well and holds it up etc... he was shocking on Saturday. Hardly won anything in the air, his touch when the ball played into him was shocking and even simple balls were going wayward, so someone please explain how he did anything for us.

As for bringing others into play, well in his cameo against Chelsea, Andy Johnson did more of that than Zamora all season, dropping to receivce the ball, playing it quickly to team mates and moving for a return, little one two's and triangles and it was great. Zamora on the other hand is more a lumbering, battering ram type, with an average first touch at best and not good technically. He looks decent when he can bully CB's, but in many games he doesn't and as a result is a liability imo.

                    well

well i understand that you people that are going to the games and see all kinds of things a re trying hard to find positives but the bottom line is that only cisse has the gift of putting the ball in the net
                    and hes not being played....

if you study the last disasterous season in 68-69 you see that we did have a little fight back and actually left the bottom of the table pushing up to third from the bottom and in them days it was only the bottom two that dropped.........

but this team are almost identical in as much as they just cant score goals this I suggest is because all hughes ever does in training is talk about defending

hughes has a massive desire to have a strong defence, but as gerry francis and sam allardice proved the best form of defence is to attack

how many attacking chances do we actually create, lets be honest not enough

we will finish up the lowest scorers in the division this season, because in training we dont do any
attacking training its all on defending

but what hughes cant get into his head is that there is no point in defending when we are 1-0 down because when we are losing we should be attacking trying to get a winning goal

Yes I was there mate from about 11.30am and it seemed like quite a few other QPR fans turned up as well and the place is always worth a visit even if it is a touch tricky to find

We went there after the game as well and even though the Birmingham fans were obviously fed up after also losing they still welcomed us in

Agree with all those points Isle.
Far to early to be getting worried.

Infact my only real concern is Hughes because if he starts picking the right team, we WILL start winning games.

Holliet needs to start and troare.

I don't buy this Troare wasn't fit, if he's on the bench he is fit to start. Start your strongest team otherwise the game will be over before it's blo ody started!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Well said Isleworth- some common sense on the board at last.

We've looked very very good at times. Give this team time and we'll be in for some good results.

2 weeks of hard graft before the Everton game now.
