  • We need a scapegoat

Somebody to blame.....it feels so much better when we blame somebody for it. I travelled to and from the game with a Bristol City fan......He was surprisingly restrained with the mickey taking on the way home but waiting for him outside of Ashton Gate as all the City fans walked by smiling happily, as I stood there in the hoops and very unimpressed was not enjoyable. Things aren't going well but we need to "grin and bear it", "cut our cloth accordingly", etc. We've got what we've got and we need to support the best team that we can field. It won't help to add to the Managers worries by calling for his head after 3 games.....He has to be admired for taking the job in the circumstances.

Not the team I would pick but he's the professional so I tend to think he knows his stuff. We, as supporters, aren't really qualified to judge...we have opinion but what makes us think we know better than a professional? We don't attend training, we don't know the tactics being employed, we don't know fitness levels...If any fan knows better than the Manager, then why not apply for the job? I think we need stability and all this endless barracking of the incumbent Manager doesn't help unless there's better Managers out there that want the job .....and there isn't so what do we gain by slagging off JM?

i don't think the professional bit comes into it....evey club have fans that think they are better than the manager....but even a non professional can work out you have to be consistant picking the team as you possible can......same 11 for more than one game...players who play well or score picked again for the following game....really not to hard to work out is it.

I hear what you're saying but Helguson was getting slated on this very messageboard, he scores 1 goal, and all of a sudden he's a definate starter?.....We really are sad if a striker books his place in the starting 11 by scoring 1 goal. For the record, I like Helguson as a player but we do collectively talk a complete crock of ****e sometimes.

personally i don't rate him....but some were saying he is a confidence striker.....he scores and gets dropped......not too good for the confidence....same with gorkks....he scored an own goal...gets dropped....
to me getting the confidence up is part of the battle...not going to do that by treating the players this way.

Yeah - fair shout.....particularly Gorkss - He's quality....HH was playing Prem a year or so ago so he has got it....we need to harness it tho. I was sure we was going to score right at the death tonight by the way.
