  • The side we will have to play against Everton............

    Caesar

    Bosingwa Ferdinand Nelsen (c) Traore

    Faurlin M'Bia or Diakite

    Hoilett Granero Tarabat

    Zamora

Would be a 4-2-3-1 formation and if I see SWP in that starting 11 in the next game I will probably not stay for the game. I cannot take anymore watching him.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Don't even want to give the Everton game any thought. They could open us up at will with the way they've been playing recently.

We HAVE to put Diakite or M'Bia on Fellaini.

Id swap zamora for cisse as i think its a waste having players like granero and tarrabt who can play great balls through for a striker to run onto as zamora is too slow and with him up front there is obly gonna be one tactic boot it up to zamora. I think he should be the sub striker to come on when we need to hang onto the game
This isnt just goodbye, this is i cant stand you!

Agree with that. Would be worth putting to the test at least.

Good line up, Dyer looked good as RB and Bosingwa can play LB
Two fullbacks who are comfortable at the ball and can support the midfield.

Anton's man marking is shocking at the moment, we know it, the pundits know it, now its time for MH to recognize it otherwise Jelavic will have a field day.
Starting line up with SWP included will be a slap the supporters face too.

Why would you play a RB at LB?

doesn't matter what the line up is, we can't defend so it's all irrelevent
for what it's worth I'd have
                  Cesar
Dyer Boswinga (played very well iin the middle last season) Nelsen Traore
                  Park Granero Diakite Faurlin Hoilett
                  Taraabt

This side has some craft, skill and pace, players who are capable of keeping the ball and players with an eye for goal

The following players cannot defend and should NOT play again, Ferdinand, Hill, Onouha. SWP can be added to that list.
Then we need to go out in January and buy some proper defenders. At this rate we'll be 5-10 points adrift which is retrievable if we stop the rot early Jan

Yes, Bosingwa can play LB, but so can others. Whether they're good enough to is a different matter. We've got a LB, Traore, and it's better for us to play players in their correct positions, like Bosingwa, who's a RB.

                        My choice would be:

                        Cesar

                        Bosingwa Nelsen Hill Traore

                        Hoilett Granero M'bia Faurlin Taarabt

                        Zamora

We need to get at least a point and it's why I'd play three across the middle. M'bia will need to pick up Fellaini, Faurlin will need to be the ball-winner and break up their attacking play, Taarabt and Hoilett will have to support both BZ and the midfield. I would want Granero controlling possession and playmaking in the middle. We can use the full-backs to attack up the flanks if we're playing M'bia as a defensive midfielder and Faurlin offering cover just in front. We could then send an attacking fullback, Granero, Taarabt, Hoilett, and BZ in attack, with midfield cover from Faurlin, M'bia, and the remaining three defenders. It would stop us getting hit on the counter which happens to us a lot.

Largely because all our full backs are pants... I don't rate Fabio on the left and think Traore's suspect defensively (but a gem going forward). And Dyer was first class against Spurs at RB. And Boswinga's played effectively at LB before (playing there for Chelsea).

Prefer to see players playing in their natural positions, and Bosingwa's is RB. Traore is a LB and not a bad player there.

However, Hughes chose to go with only one natural LB and gave the squad space to Ephraim.
