Sensible debate with regards to the Defence

Last year our strength was the defence.

Now, why mess with it?

I think we'd all pick Connoly over Stewpeas AND Hall in defence?

For me, I'd PREFER Gorkks n Connoly as CBs but accept that Connoly, Stewpeas and Gorkks worked last year...why not stick with that and borrowdale in for delaney? In a fairnesss Gary seems a better player than delaney.

Why are we tinkering with the ONE thing that didnt need looking at?

cos thats what Magilton does.
Drove the fans mad at Ipswich doing it and will do the same here. Players out of position and forever tinkering

I agree with your point scott but there's so much pressure on the defence as we're not scoring goals,teams seem to know we score one against rangers we're more or less going to win or at worst draw as they cant score goals.

because Magilton hasn't a clue....wants to do things his way.......which is why Ipswich always came up short......

we were never going top be as good at the back this season purely because we are playing more attacking football.

Not the defence's fault really ...first line of defence is up front ...if we looked dangerous up front and could score goals teams would be on the back foot from the start ...must be awful playing in our defence knowing concede once and your going to lose the game!

If connoly is not fully fit fair enough, id rather him rested for 3 games than out for 2 months, but gorkss was fully fit to my knowledge so is a must on the team sheet along with stewart who he played so well with last year!

only conceeded 3 goals.. scored 1 "normal" goal and 1 fluke.

he can change defence as much as possible its in attack that needs changing.. starting to think since routledge came we've been gettin worse..

i say this because he came in when sousa was implementing the diamond. changed the team coz u cant leave him out and we suffer.

maybe its the same again.. we cant leave him out but then buz cant get his game going.

Hate to say it but I'm very concerned about Magilton already, playing Fitz Hall is a ridiculous decision in the first place over any of our other 3 CB's.

If its not broke don't try to fix it!

Without Gorkks or Connolly we have no defenders capable of bringing the ball out of defence and that for me is where the problem starts.

Jim is known for tinkering with a side.... I remember an ipswich fan saying he never knew his best 11..... also he changes things that do not need changing.....
