By the way, you think Gary Neville is clueless? Strange that. He's got a UEFA A coaching licence, he's an England coach, he's won the EPL 8 times, he's won the UEFA champions league, he's England's most capped right back, and he's won a ton of other stuff. He's also a very good analyst. Clueless eh?

    What's on your CV mate?
The only thing on his cv is bull s###..
    Barton is Innocent ok....

i think that its not possible for even a world class goalie to have all posibilities covered. a world class goalie can quickly work out the likely variable and position themselves accordingly. the ball could go near or far post, be passed back to another player etc. the last thing you need is for a GK to second guess probability and try to position for any random deflection. no goalie can keep everything out. i expect cesar is world class, my only reservation is that he needs to prove it in the prem cos its a better league than italy and he played for one of the top teams. world class keeper imo till proved not.

btw on green and mackie laughing, we often laugh in life when things go wrong, sardonic? (is that the word..??) not necessarily a bad thing...you can laugh with colleagues with empathy!!!

        Hello,
I am an Inter fan from Italy, and Julio Cesar was always one of my favourite players when he was playing for Inter Milan, perhaps this is what drove me here to see what QPR fans were thinking about him after his first few games.

I have seen some of the goals he took, and to me the greatest JC at his 100% would have saved some of them. It goes without saying that the 2nd goal that he took against West Ham would have naturally been saved had he been at his 100%. Even so, you can't really blame him for that goal, I used to play as a goalkeeper, and anybody with some experience would tell you that when such deflections take place it becomes really hard to save them.

Just give him some time and he will soon be at 100% again, as he is one of the best examples of professionalism I have seen. If you guys insist on making him play as your starting goalkeeper, he will soon make you very happy. In his days at Inter Milan there were many people in Italy (even amongst the fans of other teams, and some Juventus fans as well) who would rate JC to be even better than Buffon, and I believe he will be back at his greatest peak, just like he was when he played at the Camp Nou, with that world class save on Messi that would have later allowed Inter Milan to reach the CL final (that was just 2 years ago).

Keep the faith. You have the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, just like you will soon find out.

Quick question: Would the people saying the 2nd Wet Spam goal was no fault of Cesar's at all be saying the same if Green was in goal? I have a sneaky feeling people would be calling for him to be hung drawn & quartered if it was Green.

Thanks for posting this. I completely agree with you, I think the guy is class.

One thing he will probably have to work on a bit to get used to is dealing with crosses. There's a lot more focus on playing down the wings in the Prem compared to Italy. Or maybe this is just me not being used to a European-style puncher after many years of watching English-style catchers.

Matty I'd say the same if Green or any keeper was in goal, they have no chance with such a late deflection to react quick enough.

As I put in an earlier post the split second it takes to react is called the psychological refractory period (PRP) by which time its too late.

Was Reyna slated for not predicting a shot would hit a beach ball and deflect past him a few years back? Of course not. Cesars deflection was a couple of feet in front of him making it impossible.

good to hear some positive words, however what went on in Italy is irrelevent to us us now.
I'm only interested what he does for us
we need a keeper who is confident, reliable, instills confidence into the defence, commands his area and doesn't make blunders
let's hope JC is that person

Better than Green. Why would we need the best keeper? We are QPR not Man Utd. Get the defence back and he will look better.

Agreed, I've said numerous times on other threads, until we sort our defence out, we will struggle.
STOP CONCEDING AND YOU DON'T LOSE MATCHES, IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, WHY HAVEN'T OUR SO CALLED EXPERTS MANAGING THE CLUB WORKED THIS OUT

Good reply Del. I still need to see this replay on TV, I must say in real time frm where I was sitting it looked a Cesar balls up but obviously from there I wouldnthave been able to see this deflection.
Sounds like Im digging him out abit here, but I partially blame Onouha for being well out of position and leaving Vaz Te on his own at the back stick for the goal tbh.

out of curiosity, wher was Onouha for both their goals, which came from their left side?

In my eye's Matty, don't think any goal keeper would have saved it.

A better positioned keeper would have.
