  • It Simples!

Hughes got his tactics wrong and Allardyce got his spot on.

WH played 5 across the middle with 3 of em focused on Faurlin and Granero who simply got bullied and had no time on the ball to create anything. Our only outlet when this happens would normally have been to attack down the wings except he decided to play SWP and Park on the wings who are both shant at the moment. The only solution then was to lump it forward and hope which also didn't work.

Taarabt and Samba improved things with a bit more physicality and skill but it was all to little to late.

TBF on MH he would have got stick if he had played 1 upfront at home from some but thats the tough decisions he needs make and what he gets paid for.

    Positives:
Mbia - improved from the Reading game
    Taarabt - Obviously
Diakite - Despite getting sent off like a complete helmet I saw glimpses of what he could become.

We could see it after 20 mins should have changed it then insteaad of waiting too long. should've introduced Diakite then to give them some help our midfield, who were bullied out of it Sam got right! Hughes got it wrong!. Trouble is it was on T.V and now everyone knows how to stop us playing

Absoultely. Blame lays with MH for this one. We were clearly over run in midfield and he let it go on way too long. 2nd Half started same as first. Left the changes too late and shows he cannot react to tactical issues quickly enough.

I have no problem starting 4-4-2 at home, but change it if it is failing so miserably and change it fast.

As for selection - very strange, again.

Anyone who says it will take time to gel - it's wearing thin. MH has been here a long time and been massively backed. This is his team now and he didn't strengthen in the right way in some case and where he did - he doesn't play them!

I am not saying sack him, but he has to take responsibility for this horrible start. We have platyed West Ham, Norwich and Swansea - all will be fighting at the bottom come May and we have failed to beat any of them.

And as for all those that want the "grafters" out there like SWP becuase he "puts a shift in" - well it doesn't work. Play Hoilett and Tarbs - they are our best chance to create chances.

SWP should be cleaning the pots in the kitchen.

That sounds wrong somehow. Did you mean to post that in the other browser you have open in a very different forum?

got to agree on all counts when we were repeatedly kicking the ball out of play surely Hughs knew then changes had to be made yet he still waited, leaving Cisse on the full game was being hopeful on Hughes part rather than being tactively constuctive

Think most of us could see we needed Diakite and Adel on long before Hughes did. Surprised he shuffled a bit at half time and then left it another 10 minutes to introduce them. Harder to pull back a two goal deficit in that space of time. Maybe could have done it, if Diakite had stayed on the pitch, we'll never know. And agree, Hoillet for SWP has to be done for Saturday, more of a threat.
