  • Cisse

I think he was one of our better players yesterday. Had a couple of decent shots and could have scored with a better luck. The problem is that our midfield Park, Granero and Faurlin had no vision how to play the ball upwards - they don't see or cannot read the movement of our strikers. Taarabt has the ability and when he came in he changed our attacking game.

True. Cisse is a natural striker who can score If he is given the ball at the right time and place. I think there is too much pressure on Granero and we expect too much from him. He is young and needs time. I would start Taarabt ahead of him and then may introduce him in the 2nd half.

Get real, Granero has been one our few positives.

If they didn't see the movement of our strikers it was probably because they weren't moving. Both of them spent most of the game trotting around next to the West Ham centre backs

I thought Cisse was awful yesterday. Right now he doesn't remotely justify a place in the starting 11. He doesn't contribute anything much defensively/tactically, so if he isn't sharp and looking like scoring there is really no place for him in the side.

And before anyone says 'why do you want your strikers to defend? that's not what they're for', have a think about how we got completely bossed in central midfield by 3 vs 2, and what playing a second striker means for our shape.

          Faurlin vs Nolan
          Granero vs Noble
...and Cisse sure as hell wasn't arsed about dropping deep and closing down Diame. No wonder he looked like Yaya Toure last night

            Laughable thread.

Dis interested, not alert, waits for the ball to get to him rather than move towards the ball meaning 9 times out of 10 the defenders nick it from him. Sulks & moans, shoots from 35 yards out when others are in better positions.

Need I go on? And I am a fan of the man! He is a lazy luxury player who's ego out weighs his ability imho.

Cisse was poor again. Doesn't contibute to the side. He improved marginally when taraabt came on
Swp was alright in fairness, i got a good view of him in SA road. Clearly Diakite/Taraabt were a lot more physically suited to the challenege of the game than park/swp though.

You sir have no clue... sorry - Although I sort of understand the Adel comment as he did begin some creativity for us...

Fact is - CISSE is a striker, he must score goals. When he does, he plays well. If he doesnt and misses and sulks etc then he doesnt play well

LAST NIGHT HE DIDNT PLAY WELL - That sadly is the truth

i actually didn't think he was too bad last night, and was a bit unlucky not to hit the back of the net. had a number of shots, did some good passes...yes a bit of laziness but we allow players like tarbs that same luxury.

The only reason he didn't score is because the keeper pulled off a great save to tip his shot over the bar in the 1st half. Cisse also had another shot saved in the 2nd half. However, all in all, QPR did not create enough chances. Maybe that's down to a lack of movement on his part or a lack of vision from the midfielders.

I know Cisse will score goals if selected on a regular basis alongside Zamora.

Hopefully, QPR will soon have the option of playing Faurlin and Granero alongside Diakite or Mbia and Taarabt behind the two strikers.

This for me would give QPR a chance dominate possession and the creativity for goalscoring chances that Cisse and co can score from.

Cisse had a shocker last night. His touch was poor, little or no link play and again looked out of breath after 60 minutes, which meant he didn't really move, which meant the midfield had less options to aim for. I personally still don't think he is fully fit after the hamstring injury he got in pre-season.

He's a confidence player and if he scores a goal we'll see a different player, but until then I think he'll continue to struggle.

Sir Duncs - Taarabt brings a hell of a lot more to the team than Cisse make no bones about that.

4312, with Adel as the treqartista? That could work, most teams in Italy play that way, but it relies on the FBs to provide attacking width. Fine when your FBs are Bosingwa and Fabio. Onuoha and Hill, not so much.

I don't think Faurlin and Granero are ideal for that formation either, you want the players on either side of the (effective) diamond to be very mobile and comfortable moving out to the wings both when defending and attacking. Ramires is the sort of player you'd want for that position, not a less mobile passer.

Strikers are taught to defend. Coaches set up 4 v 2 drills and get the strikers defending from the front. They learn to shut down space for defenders so they have to hoof the ball up the pitch and thereby possibly conceding possession.

Of course, lazy strikers don't bother with this
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
