absolutely, he should have been shown the door at the end of last season. The writing was on the wall then.

I don't even want a succesful Hughes, becuase that means we'll all be bored to death watching mediocrity struggle to stay up year after year.

His record for us is abysmal, he tactical appllication is poor, he transfer dealings were chaotic, and he failed miserably to guide Anton. Worst of all, his dressing rooms aren't a bunch of laughs and I don't think players turn up for him 100%. I'm sure he's a wonderful husband and great human being, I just don't rate him as a manager.

I don't think MH is incompetent. However, I also don't think he is a great manager. We are not going to attract a great manager yet, so we have one about right.

He doesn't get everything right and our start is poor.

He also didn't keep us up, Stoke did, as he failed in his personal objective on the last day.

But there is no one else we can hand it over to now is there? He has been backed and that means we have to give him time.

He isn't doing great at the mo though and I don't agree with some of his selections, but I am not a football manager.

I'm obviously on a different planet- I'm really astonished at the criticism of Hughes. We stayed up didn't we. It was always going to be tough and whilst Warnock got us up, for which we will always be grateful to him, he bought a collection of mediocre players to the club, who would not have kept us up. MH came in and bought Cisse for one, amongst others who did keep us up. Bottom line.
Let's chuck him out get Pep Guardiola in. God help him if loses a game.
What did we expect after 16 long years in the lower leagues.
Surely, survival was the objective for season 1. Improving, has to be the objective for season 2.
We waited a long time to get back where we belong but some fans don't seem to be prepared to wait at all for success ,now we're up.
I thought our fans were better than that.

Well said Bushey- I thought our fans were better than this too. I'm beginning to think we don't actually deserve success.

In fairness I think it is a minority, just those who shout loudest on the internet MBs.

What complete nonsense. Warnock had serious restrictions on who he could buy. Hughes didn't.

And it is nothing about being prepared to wait. If I thought a manager was good, I'd be happy to even get relegated with him, if I felt the long-term propsects were good.

As a paying football fan, I am entitled to have an opinion on MH, not based on how this season has started, but on everything he has done before. I am sorry if unlike you I do not hero-worship him, I thought our fans would respect the views of other fans instead of accusing them of being shallow... I thought our fans were better than that.

OK- so if we sack Hughes after a defeat to West Ham for example, who do we bring in?

                        One pretty obvious candidate

Really do think that Hughes did himself a disservice by playing such a strong side minus the back 4 in a useless tourney that only would bolster QPR fans desperate for any tin cup no matter how tarnished. He set himself up for a much-deserved backlash from fair-weather fans with little knowledge of the game. He should have rested the starting XI to avoid injuries and check out the caliber of the bench. Why risk the West Ham game on Monday for this. Now the team is doubly under pressure from the media and fans to win on Monday. This is the poor management skills that I can see most assuredly above the other things.
Agree with this! He should have rested regulars and given others such as Derry a good run to keep them game ready, a loss would have been more palatable then!

You are of course correct that Hughes did keep QPR up. Apart from the obvious fact of the League table, it was his signinmgs that scored most of the goals that won points. Cisse on a number of occasions, Zamora's equaliser against Everton, Diakite's winner against Arsenal. If Warnock had stayed in charge he would have been hoping that Bothroyd would finally remember how to score, or his last signing, Macheda!

I honestly cannot believe that Hughes is being described as incompetent. He kept Blackburn up and into mid-table, kept Fulham comfortably into the top half. And got sacked at Man City when they were still in the top 4.

I am not happy at a lot of his team selections i.e. the absence of Cisse alongside Zamora the main one, or selecting SWP ahead of Hoilett and Taarabt, I was bemused by his decision to play Mackie on the right and have Park on the left wing. The fomer should,IMO, been on the bench, but incompetent? No.

QPR conceding goals against Reading, could largely be put down to the number of defensive injuries which meant that he had to play 4 defenders who do not yet know each other's game very well.

yeah but you don't get that in this division.... hence the sacking of Colin. But Colin didn't have a contract like Hughes'.

given no improvement the board may just be approaching their first real test.
