  • Disappointing result but a lot of positives taken

-First of all we played really well, we just need to learn to keep a lead and defend properly.

-Cisse and Hoilett are off the mark now so they could be very useful next week against the Hammers.

-Cesar proved to be an excellent keeper and should get us quite a few points this season.

-We are getting better and better performance-wise every game, all we need to do now is get the ball in the back of the net more often and we'll be fine!

-Hopefully with the easier run of games coming up we can pick up some points, and I reckon when we get our first league win we will be a real force in the league, and maybe even go unbeaten for a while!

-It was only the Carling/Capital one cup or whatever you want to call it , so stop calling for MH's head already, I'm getting sick of these manager changes... We need stability!!! It's No good having a completely new manager and squad every year. Besides, Man City went out of the cup yesterday at home to Villa, so it's not just us.
"When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0

The only positive I want to see is the scoreline at the moment it's hard to be positive

Not being funny mate but you are renowned for talking ******** on this site when it comes to football . I have to ask myself do some of our fans actually watch the game when they go. We were a ****ing shambles you want locking up for thinking that is any sort of an acceptable performance where positives can be taken from it.

That team of ours doesn't know how to win a game, it's as simple as that, and it's starting to worry me now.
We can brush aside defeats at home to the likes of Swansea and Reading, but really lads, these are games we should be winning with our eyes closed.
And please, enough of this 'it's only the capital one cup' crap.
If we don't go all out to win things like that trophy, then what in the name of **** are we ever going to win.
God forbid we join that legion of losers only content with survival in the premiership.

-We didn't play well. Not at all mate.
-Hopefully that is the kick start they need (particularly Cisse).
-Cesar is no doubt a brilliant keeper, but i thought he could have done a lot better with the 1st and 3rd goals.
-This performance was a step back imo.
-I can't see where our first win is coming from.
-Sacking hughes would be madness. Calling for Redknapp shows just how clueless some fans are.

Have to agree with this. How can anyone take positives after watching that?

I was at the game and we looked very casual. There was no urgency about our game, we did not look dangerous in attack at all!! We had nothing out on the wing.
I like Park, but he is useless on the wing - he'd be better off playing in the centre. He can't cross a ball and he was rightly substituted despite being our captain.

I blame Hughes for that defeat. You don't play two workers like Park and Mackie in the same team. He should of played just one and started with Wright Phillips, who would of given us more pace as well as maybe stretched Reading's defence. I'm a bit worried about Faurlin and Granero playing together too. They're both great players and they do link up well, but they wont get us many goals this season, and we need the midfielders to chip in with the goals because Zamora isn't going to score that many. I'm not convinced by the Zamora-Cisse partnership, they seem like they're on a different wave length.

The only positive I can take out of that game is that is was only the League Cup and not a Premier League match. Nice to see Cisse and Hoilett find the back of the net too, as well as Cesar saving a penalty

Had to laugh at anything positive tonight apart from I'm positive Hughes has no idea of his best starting eleven or formation.
