  • Let's not panic

Whilst a return of 2 points from 5 games is very disappointing, it's only really the Swansea game that was way short of what was expected in terms of result. To the best of my knowledge, we only had Park and Hoilett playing, from the new signings. There was no Cesar, Nelsen, Boswinga, Granero, Faurlin playing, not to mention Mbia.
We are a totally different outfit now and playing the way we did aganst the scum and the spuds should give us realstic cause for optimism. We are improving and results will come. Realistically, we would have expected 4/5 points by now.
Let's not panic, get behnd the r's and results will come.

Agreed we did not have an easy start on paper and the Swansea game is the only really disappointing scoreline in there. In someways it is probably best to get City and Spurs away out the way early, so once the players gel we are playing the games we need to win. Our downfall last season was not beating Blackburn, WBA, Norwich, Bolton home or away, which not only lost us points but gained them for those sides around us. Beat these sort of sides this year and we will be fine.

Spot on. Last season, we took 5 points from 48 against Blackburn, WBA, Norwich, Bolton, Villa, Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham
There's a fair chance we might improve on that!!

We beat Wet Spam & we're off & running. Huge game.

With you on that one Matty......it seems strange to have such a pivotal game so early on but you just get the sense that we can really kick on from this Monday night..

I agree, if I look back it's only the Swansea game that looks bad.

We'll pick up points fast, and we are starting to look real good... a few teams will get hammered by us.

My worry is that we may not perform well against weaker sides. The other worry is not getting enough points from away games.

playing the way we have in the last 2 games, against decent teams is surely gong to yield plenty of points against weaker teams and some away wins along the way

It's all swings and roundabouts ....from the corresponding fixtures last year we had 6pts ...this year we have 2pts.

Yet another "chin up" thread, while I agree there is a long way to go,it still doesn't disguise a very dissaponting start to the season, thing everyone would have expected more than 2 points from 5 games

What's so wrong with a bit of positivity once in a while - you should try it Rebel, it's not as bad as you may think!

Every team gets a run like this, we're just getting ours out the way early is all :=):

Also, there are other teams on miserable runs, Stoke haven't won in 16 games and got put out the Capital One Cup by Swindon. If we're going to be realistic, let's account for all variables eg. other teams.

True, but they plyed above themselves at home to win against Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs. They drew with Chelsea this time around. Not forgetting losing against Swansea having beaten them last year.

However, I did say similarly a few weeks back that I expected QPR to be bottom of the pile with 1 or 2 points by the time the West Ham game kicks off, but that it is not all doom and gloom becuase the opening fixture would be the only disappointing result from the 1st 5 fixtures. Had that gone the way we expected, QPR would now be on 5 points and we wouldnt be so gloomy.

I think the squad QPR now have is far better equipped than last season and despite this slow start QPR should be in a comfortable mid table position by November, and should stay clear of the bottom 6 from then on.

we'll get more points at home and away than last season, the Swansea result is really the only result we couldn't see
