  • Taarabt - still the best

Makes me laugh that I see threads on the midfield, and Tarbs is not even mentioned. Now it seems that Granero is the "golden boy", even though he had an average game against Spurs, giving away the ball for their goal, wasting the ball with a nothing 35 yard pass (which everyone seems to have forgotten), having a lame shot from outside the box which wasted possession, he is suddenly being billed as being "great".

Maybe I am just loyal, and do not forget past contributions, or maybe I don't like players being judged unfairly, but Tarbs is still the best midfielder we have, he has raw talent that the likes of Granero can only ever dream of, and if we're not going to play him, then we need to sell him, because it is not fair on the fans to miss seeing such a great talent, and it is not fair on the player for wasting his career.

Yes, Granero gave the ball away a couple of times and didn't worry the keeper with that lame shot - but his pass completion would have been high and I reckon his tackle count for that match alone would surpass Adel's for an entire season. The boy has an abundance of ability as does Adel but he also has a work ethic which proves you can be both a quality individual and a team player. Given the choice, Hughes will go for that over AT every time IMO. And no, that's not me saying I don't rate Adel so much as saying Granero offers much more all round for the team. Hughes doesn't have space for passengers.

Oh good. This board definitely needs another 'you either like this player or that player' and if you're on the other side to me, you're not a proper QPR fan.....

I like Granero, I think he's made a great start. I also think Taarabt is a major talent, and hopefully we can see his best again soon.

I have seen no evidence that people have said Granero is the second coming, therefore Adel is now forgotten and rubbish.

You're arguing against a straw man.

Good shout, why are comparing the 2 players. Granero has played 3 games against top sides and yes, he looks accomplished already and seems to compliment Faurlin in the middle of the field. Adel was sensational in the championship but this is a different level and has yet to prove he can consisently turn it on in the PL. He had some good games near the end of the season but when we're struggling on a cold night up north, is he going to roll up his sleeves and give you want you need. No doubt about his ability. Remember he was the one who said he should be at Real Madrid 2 years ago, not the fans. Anyway, he's more attacking than Granero, so don't think they're really ccompeting. I see Adel playing in the hole between midfield and attack

For those that love Adel (of which I'm one) I think we can say we won't see too much of him this year unless we rack up a load of injuries in midfield? think M.H will always pick Faurlin & Granero in front of Adel with 2 wide men. he will probably play tomorrow if fit? but as for league games I doubt if he'll get the nod, looks like Dyer, Mackie,Cisse, Swp, Park, all head of him at the moment. Hughes wants workers and most of these would put more of a shift in than Adel defensively. think Adel will only be used as an impact substitution.

Taarabt is a very talented player obviously, but can be equally petulant, sulky, ineffectual when it matters. His work rate and team ethic improved under MH, but it took the best part of a season to have a positive impact.

Granero on the other hand, has come in with next to no preparation time and been thrown in to 3 of the hardest fixtures of the season in his first 3 games, and looked a class act. To look as good as he has and gel with Faulrin so quickly, against the calibre of opposition, ie money no object players, speaks volumes for his talent and potential.....

For anyone to overlook this to instead highlight the odd missed pass is quite frankly laughable.

I am a big fan of AT, but do you remember his performance at White Hart Lane last year? His pass completion would have been below 20%. By comparison, EG played a blinder.

Personally, i would like to see them both play, at least in home games.

our squad has more flexibility now and home games should have a more attacking line up
away, when we are under more pressure, we need grafters not ones that work less

So would you drop Granero and put Taarabt in his position alongside Faurlin then Marshy?

The Premiership is an unforgiving beast and mistakes are more likely to be punished. Unfortunately, Taraabt is still vulnerable to errors and being caught in possession and, with him, it becomes more obvious as the expectation on him to deliver seems greater. Still a good talent and still with a role to play but feel that others are more at home at this level than he is at the moment. Will probably be used when a game is already won or when our safety is assured.

Makes me sick the way Taarabt is treated pushed to the side for players that show less quality

Should be playing every match when fit

We forget what he is capable of on the field and can win games for us

Still by far our most skilled player
