Maybe I am just loyal, and do not forget past contributions, or maybe I don't like players being judged unfairly, but Tarbs is still the best midfielder we have, he has raw talent that the likes of Granero can only ever dream of, and if we're not going to play him, then we need to sell him, because it is not fair on the fans to miss seeing such a great talent, and it is not fair on the player for wasting his career.
Unbelievable post I would seriously consider watching another sport.

Never doubted Taarabt. He looked sharp, lively and confident again in our run-in last season and even in the Swansea game. He hasn't even had a minute of game time since then so I don't think that will do him good. I'd say he probably still is our most talented midfielder, he creates chances from nothing with his unexpected passes, gets passes players for fun and when confident he can win a game for us. Granero is a very different player though, he's a centre midfielder just like Faurlin. Taarabt is more of a winger/striker.

We forget what he is capable of on the field and can win games for us

Still by far our most skilled player
Maybe the most skillful but over the last season and bit probably the least effective. Plays for himself, lazy, has he ever headed the ball shall I go on ........

love adel but...that static dribble of his (maybe the best in the world at it), whilst being a very visual and obvious talent is but one skill. many other skills are required in the game which are
far less obvious. ranges of skills add up to the rounded player. granero is more rounded as a player imo. i respect adels ability but i find "laziness" on the pitch unexcusable.

I think AT has to challenge SWP for a place to start, if only he showed the same level of playing for the team and hard work attacking wise and definite defending he would be a starter for sure cause his talent is beyond debate.
The days he could do whatever he wants on the pitch and other people were working their socks off just for him to shine in the Championship are over.

Wish he would look and learn from some video's of Johan Cruyff someone with a gifted talent for picking the right choices and always in control and knowing what happened on the pitch.
Knowing when to pass when to shoot and when to look around is what makes a very talented footballer a maestro on the pitch.

              Hughes on Taarabt

On the first day of the season we were beaten at home quite comprehensively, and I made changes. Those changes affected Adel. But he’s very well thought of here, this is the best place for him and he will get games. But he has to bide his time like a number of other players do. There are a number of players waiting to get a run in the team, and they will get that run. They just need to keep on focusing on working hard on training and making it difficult to leave them out of the team.

It's not about comparing Granero to Taarabt, they're two completely different players! If anything, Taarabt has got to be competing against the likes of SWP and Hoilett.
I'm a massive fan of Taarabt, but there are games where I think he shouldn't start or he needs to be subbed off because he's become a liability. Hopefully he'll get some minutes under his belt and impress against Reading.
An in-form Taarabt, who is unplayable on his day, playing alongside the likes of Granero, Faurlin and Park would cause plenty of teams in the Premier League problems.

Look, it's very simple really. Members are asked to vote in a poll, who they thought was MOM on Sunday. In other words, give an opinion.
I think it's best if everybody stops beating about the bush, and let you know one salient, undoubted, fact of life......Not everybody will share your opinion.
I know it's hard to understand, it took me half a lifetime to accept it, but there you go.
As for Adel, I'm one of his biggest fans, but he wasn't even in the squad on Sunday, due I should imagine, to the injury that prevented him from completing Friday's training session. Doesn't mean Rangers fans don't love him any less.

Just imagine a midfield of Granero, Faurlin and Taarabt - the stuff dreams are made of, if only MH could see it.

Last season was poor for Tarbs , the odd flick and trick here and there and a couple of goals. Season before most assists , loads of goals he ruled in the championship. Perhaps he has found his level. I cant comment on this season yet as hes hardly played.

Would like to see him get some minutes, for example as we were down 2 -1 to Spurs and it was his old club why not bring him on for the last 20 . I dont think Hughes likes him personally

As stated by Bushranger & many others; AT was injured in training on Friday, therefore making him unavailable for selection.

Bit OTT. Granero had a v good game but he also made the errors attributed to him in the original post. Think there is a faint hint that Granero is already considered some kind of wonderboy primarily because he comes from Real Madrid. Hopefully he will turn into a v fine player for us and hopefully it will also be remembered that Adel has been a v fine player for us and has the potential to be an even better one.

had he ever headed the ball.....probably the reason that england produces the kind of crap at every tournament. Milner....he's bloody useless but at least he tries....and for us english that seems to be all that matters. I think your first response to the thread : "Unbelievable post I would seriously consider watching another sport. " applies to your first sentence. Least effective? Blimey....either exagerating to prove a point or god knows

Well, I think there is such a thing as having too big a squad. It often means you have to constantly rotate to keep players happy, and the squad doesn't get fluidity.

I personally would not have bought Granero, but now that we have him, we can't not play him. I would personally take out SWP and put Adel on the wing (even though it's not his best position), but as I don't see that happening, I think we should sell him. I would hate to see his career wasted sitting on the bench.

That's the problem with English football, it's all about passion and 11 grafters. I would rather have 1 or 2 mavericks in my team, who might be lazy, but who have the skill to change the game with one moment of skill. Yes, ideally they would defend too, but if they don't, then that's the reason you have 4 defenders for.
